can you change file type?

Question can you change file type?

got a couple pics i would like to post and they are in bmp format is there any way to change them to jpg or something that is accepted?

....your photo editing software should allow you the "save as" option, with several file types to choose from (including jpeg)?

just tryed that and it gave me 4 different types of bmp to save as and nothing else no jpeg or anything... any other ideas? or did i do something wrong?

Go to MS paint and opent the bmp image. click on File, "Save As' and when the box comes up where you enter file name and such, you should be able to select jpg from the drop down menu of file types.This will give you the image in a bmp file and a jpg file

thats what i originally tryed, i went to ms paint, hit "save as" and it gave me 4 different types of bmp to save as and nothing else no jpeg or anything... any other ideas? or did i do something wrong?

download the evaluation copy of paint shop pro. its easy to use.

sounds like you have an old version (early win2k or previous) of ms paint.

I "think" some of the later patches for win2k allowed ms paint to save as jpeg, but Im not positive.

i quit doin updates, after 10-15 a day for a week straight they get old so i turned em off.
