Calling Dodge/Chrysler Tech or Parts, question

We replaced my wife's Catalytic on her 2006 Pacifica in 2011.

I was told be the dealer the replacement carries a 1 year warranty, can anyone confirm?

Original warranty was 8yrs/80K

Magnaflow is the only manufacturer that I can find with a CARB approved cat and it carries a 5 year warranty.

Catalytic converter is smog equipment and should have 5 year 100000 mile warranty. Or they used to be warranted that long.

Are you referring to original warranty or replacement warranty?

Ours was 8/80 from date of purchase of vehicle, I'm trying to find out if the replacement carries a warranty of longer than 1 year.

Now that I think about it, it's probably moot. It was replaced in-warranty back in 2011 so the replacement probably only carries the balance of the 8/80 warranty.

If we paid for the Cat it may have 1 year as they claim or 5 year as I believe.

I could be wrong, but I believe this should fall under Federal guidelines, I believe all replacement catalytic converters regardless of OEM or replacement have to be certified to the original 8 year 80K level.

As a matter of fact,m since you are in Cali, even though this document is for the state of NY, they conform to CARB guidelines. Looks like an open and shut case of they are on the hook for your converter.......
