Need some Chrysler tech help (Fuel system)
Need some Chrysler tech help (Fuel system)
Wife has a 2006 Pacifica which has a saddle tank.
She was getting a code for Evap leak.
She took it in and they replaced the Fuel Module right side due to a broken off evap line nipple.
Soon as she picked it up the car was hard to start as if the fuel lines needed to be primed. If you bumped the pump on for a few seconds then tried to start it would start normally.
She took it back to the dealer and they said the Left pump is failing, she told them she would hold off for a couple weeks.
Now it seems she is not getting fuel transfer in the tank. Her DTE will read 200 and the needle is at half tank upon start up, then within a minute it will go to 30 miles and the needle crashes to empty. It also keeps clicking off at the pump every 10-20 seconds when trying to fill. I put in 7 gallons and it was in the neck when her needle and DTE were on Empty/Low Fuel, after the 7 gallons it reads full.
Am I looking at a bad pump or do you think they created a restriction somewhere in the evap/vent system?
Can someone explain how this fuel system works? My understanding is the pump that feeds the engine also draws fuel through the module to the primary/engine fuel side of tank.

Found on-line a few have solved this problem by replacing a filter on the evap line that's mounted mid car. Can't seem to find a part number for it anywhere, sure would rather try that first at a few bucks vs the primary pump. If anyone works in Dodge parts can you check for a part number?
What did you find out?
