Need some tech help on CR problem
Does anyone know if the camshaft position sensor is the one right below the CP3 on the common-rails? It reads off the ring on the front of the crank? The one that would throw the p0341 code?
And this is the CKP "crankshaft position sensor" that is not used on common-rail engines? http://www.dodge-diesel.org/articles/cps/ckp.htm
I am broke down 1000 miles from home and have a thread about the current situation if any experts have some advice:

Thanks guys.

No that is the crank sensor on the crank. The cam sensor is in between the cp3 and the block on the back of the timing cover and is retained with either a 4 or 5 mm allen head bolt and is identical to the crank sensor
The article you are quoting is a 24V motor out of a pre 03 truck. They had a crank sensor on some of them back near the starter. On the common rails, they are on the crank snout and cam sensor is in the same place. If you have ever worked on a p-pumped motor, it is in the same location as the locking pin for the pump.
