I don't realy like my tube, but I needed flutes (on the tube) cause I'm gonna cord-wrap it and the flute just helps me keep the wrap straight. You know us Navy boys know how to tie a knot!

That's an ER Shaw barrel. It will shoot way better than I can.

TRUST ME......I KNOW THESE RIFLE BETTER THEN ANYONE.........

First, overall its a great gun.

Second, the ammo and care (proper cleaning, proper ammo) you give this gun will make it shoot as good as any brand.

Third, if I did have to rate the top 3, I feel your poll if off.

Its Rock River

then Bushy,

Colt is either really good, or really bad. You pay for the name with Colts. Not as consistant as a rra or bm.

I hope DPMS takes off, I like some of there options. The couple I have are pretty good, especially for the price.

Still not a RRA.

I agree with you. I think the guys that vote for Colt don't have any experience with the others.

Diesel Dan- Get a 2 stage RRA trigger. I have them in all my AR's and they are strong and consistant.

I like the AK's, but the safety lever sucks, and the bolt does not stay open on the last shot. In fact, I have a full auto one 2 arm lengths away from me right now.

Hey guys,
I have still been looking around, and I want to get a Bushy but I don't know if it would be better to buy one new or used? I don't know what it is about me but private sale is way easier then filling out you life and signing it away. If used what should I look for, and are there any problem areas?

Thanks

If you ask around at some shooting ranges or gun shows...you might even find someone to build you one new and exactly how you want it for a lot less as well....that is what i did.....except i worked with the guy.....

Phoenix has great gun shows. If you find one you like, ask them if they are a dealer. There is nothing wrong with you wanting to buy one from a private seller. There will be plenty there. It's not too hard to see how a rifle was treated.
Even if it was shot heavily, a barrel can be replaced for a few hundred dollars.
If you can, I suggest getting a used lower (probably around 250.00), but a new one is just as much. Then you can get the upper (barrell, accessories) you want by buying a new one.

Marine,

Is the AK-47 the gun mostly used by the insurgents over there? They are Russian made? Full auto?

A guy told me once you can drop one in the mud, pick it up and shoot away and it won't skip a beat.

Thanks
Bill

Yes, it is the weapon of choice of the bad guys. There are a number of countries that make them. They have a selector, where up is safe, one notch down is full auto, the bottom notch is semi auto (1 pull of the trigger fires one round).
They are very reliable, but it would depend on the mud of course. Lol. I can drop an M4 in the mud too, and it will work. However, if the mud is all the way through the action, I would pick the AK to shoot over the M4.
