Breakroom for the Geriatrics July 24 to July 30
Yep. Hated to spend that kind of $$$$ but at least we can get to where we want to go without it taking a week. With the D250 and travel trailer, my wife's health limited us to about 350 miles per day tops. With the motorhome, we just did ~1325 miles in less than 48 hours (including repairs). This same trip with the travel trailer a couple years ago took over a week one-way.
Just got into the DC area and it looks like that injector line was the problem because I'm not seeing any drips at this point, let alone the stream that we had running down the block before. Hopefully that will also resolve the issue with the petrolium mist that I keep getting on the back of the motorhome and maybe my fuel economy will improve a bit.
I figure we were pretty fortunate because we found the problem at a scenic rest area where there was a breeze and reasonable temperatures and I had the tools along to be able to fix it. It could have happened in Oklahoma where it's 105* in the shade or it could have left us sitting in a bad spot. If we had to break down, that was the place to do it and it didn't even require any parts.
Evening all. Since I'm still on from last nights night shift (insert sleepy smiley here), I think I'm headed to bed.
Nighty night.

Sitting here watching the much needed rain on radar... watching as it gets about 5 miles away and fizzles out!!
.. seriously! just west of us they've gotten over 1/2 inch in the last hour.. its dry as a bone here....Got Kiddie-Watch with the g-daughter tomorrow, gonna take her for a ride on our oldest, safest mare, she's gonna love it, and I may survive it if THE BOSS and The Boss Jr. dont find out...
Ok, off to do another rain dance, try to get something more than squirrel spit to fall from the sky...

Well, look like it (hopefully) was the #4 injector line that worked loose. Of course, that's the one behind the air inlet horn and under the air intake tube so you can't even see it let alone tighten it.
Pulled the entire air filter assembly out and then I could at least see it.
Been awhile since I greased my armpits but this job did that for me.
Off to take a shower in Simple Green and then back on the road.

Morning All. I feel a bit more human after some sleep. I was pleasantly surprised that my plan to drive at night worked as well as it did. I wanted to do that because I didn't want to have to deal with the daytime heat and that additional stress on the motorhome plus the dash AC doesn't work on the motorhome and the house AC doesn't compete with the heat coming in from the windshield. Audiobooks, chemical stimulant (5 hour energy), and regular stops to stretch kept me awake and alert. Think I'll plan to do that on the way home too.
TRad, I do feel blessed that I have the physical ability, knowledge (thanks to DTR), and skills necessary to do many or most of my own repairs cause my pockets sure aren't deep enough to pay someone else to keep this rig running. You're right, it could have been A LOT worse.
Chris, good to see you around again. Don't be a stranger. Now about that secret door, since I occasionally need to stand night shift, could you make me a copy of that key please? Here's praying for more than squirrel spit for you. Oklahoma needs it too.
Haven't seen Pete in a while. Happy anniversary. Have a cup of
on the house.Speaking of
, fresh pot is on and ph00 has been flushed. Waiting to be AllTurd by Scotty.
Shorts and Cincy, you headed for the beach today?
Chaikwa, what's shaking in your shop today?
Rolled into the DC area last night and got to enjoy what was left of the 495 rush hour at 6:30. Didn't get in any rush and made it fine; of course, I was already home and everyone else was trying to get there. Was rudely reminded of the typical Oklahoma heat and humidity (not like the dry heat we've been having this year) by the Virginia weather. Must be all the politicians up here creating all that hot moist air. I'm ready for some cool mountain air. Adirondacks, here we come (as soon as this weekend is over).
Y'all have a safe day.

Morning folks.
Pete, happy anniversary
Jay, glad you're refreshed and things are purring like they should. That's a good plan driving at night. Too many crazies out during the day, combined with the heat and it's just stress. Need to check with Cincy abut the beach. His backwards 'DTR' grew in already.
Howdy Redleg!

Nothin'! This is 'Drag the Big Red Trailer All Over the Country-side and Teach Kids About Fire Safety' season.
From what? You're a Truckie, you don't do anything to need a vacation FROM!

Evening all. Sorry no report this AM. Got up at 0600, washed truck and trailer then headed out to the Kid and Fire Show. There's always tomorrow!
