Boycott WalMart Beef !

I give up on people not buying at WalMart but what you put in your stomach and feed your family should get a little more concern than what you put on your back . USDA requires retailers to show the country of origin on food packaging . The ground beef at WalMart and other stores is simply labeled "Product of U.S. , Canada or Mexico " . You still don't know where it came from . All the ground beef at WalMart is labeled this way . This had made my wife FINALLY stop buying groceries at WalMart . She would rather pay a little more and know she is getting beef from the U.S. . Imports of Mexican beef are steadily increasing . It's up to you to not let the same thing happen to U.S. meat producers and ranchers that happened to textile and other industries . First one will go out of business , then another and before you know it most of our food will be imported .

We buy H.E.B. Guess I will have to check the labels there too. But your right thats whats partly wrong with this country. It doesnt matter where it comes from as long as it cheap.
Anyway since we started shopping other places we have found that wally wasnt always the cheapest place to buy you groceries.

Nothing wrong with Canadian beef IT"S NOT CHEEP it's good. I get ****** when we had found mad cow disease on one of the farms and the right people where notified, The US shut down every scrap of beef that went across the border even truckers that had beef sandwich in there lunch. And when the tables where turned your Farmer try to hide the fact, and did the Canadian government try to retaliate NO ,the boarders where not closed. The reaction the US did drove our cattle industry into the ground and bankrupt a lot of truckers!

Exactly. We also get as much poultry as we can from our friends on the farm.

It really is quite amazing how people think buying at a different store is going to be a safer move.

I still get asked if I have beef products in the truck thanks to that border and the panic/business grab that happened.

Going to have to look into this as we've recently changed to buy all our food from WallyMart as the selection and quality seemed better over HEB. I was really disappointed last week when trying to buy steaks for New Year's Eve bbcue and found only roast there. I found great ribeyes at HEB.

Yep, most folks just care about price. They aren't aware you can determine the thickness of your steaks, how much fat is trimmed, how long it's hung, or what the difference in the meat taste is when hung for a longer time, what cuts you prefer, how much hamburger you prefer..... On and on.

My wife and I went to a 4th of July picnic a few years ago. She made some ice cream with milk coming from a local dairy. Someone there asked her how she make it, etc, and she explained. Later I heard a couple of 15/16 year olds say, "Don't eat any of that ice cream, it's make from COW'S milk!"

I think Im gonna have to look into buying from a local guy. Dont know where aroud here Id take it to get butchered. Theres nowhere around here Ive seen thats a good place to buy meat. The best is Albertsons, and it smells rotten when you walk through the door...
