Local beef, no matter where you buy it can be the best or the worst. The man feeding makes the market, if he's a crook or tightwad he ain't gona feed it right.
Walmart is the worst thing that has ever happened to small comunities in my part of the country.

We do not have any "full on" wal mart grocery here yet, but its coming. Right now, my wife works there as she needs a job, it pays the bills and we do what we have to keep the house warm and lights on. But we get all our pork from a guy 2 hours away, farm fresh, butchered locally. We were able to get bison, cut, wrapped and delivered for .99 cents a pound, now that was good meat, SUPER lean and TASTY...

Almost as good as spotted owl...

Hey Gunrunner, what part of Nevada are you located? I am very interested in hay and feed costs and availability - we are looking toward retiring someplace besides the socialist state of wa, but with our horses.... gotta have good hay. Graze would be even better!

PM is fine, and thank you.
