bomb threat

Man some people are just not right in the head. I go to school and half way into my first class the principal comes on the PA and says they are doing a fire drill. (Its raining outside) we all evacuate out to the football fields and they then proceed to tell us that approximately at 9:00am the sheriffs department gets a call of a bomb threat at our school. We ended up standing in the rain for about 45 minutes until the bomb squad could check out our two gyms. We then proceeded to go in the gyms and wait another 2 hours while they checked the school. The good news is there was no bomb, the only bad new is that we got a little wet I just don’t understand why some people gota do stupid things like this. all I can say is just be glad if you dont live in California.

Happens in other places than Cali. I went through two of those, many years ago. Usually is some kid who doesn't like school or will be a burden to society forever.

My dad always said that his High School in Defiance, Ohio would always recieve a bomb threat on the first day of hunting season. I didn't even know they bothered scheduling a day of school on the first day of hunting season, so I always took that story with a grain of salt...

My school in Southern California is a joke when it comes to drills. If it's raining or hot or cold, it always gets cancelled. Then if it is even an unscheduled alarm, we all just sit there until the PA says that all's well.

The one time we actually had to be evacuated was when the road construction crew out front hit a natural gas line. So, naturally they told us all to evacuate. By standing out front, right next to the ruptured gas line. Like THAT'D do a lot of good...

In high school, the alarm went off so often that the teachers just kept teaching class. The day we actually had a fire, they had to come on the PA and tell us we had a real fire.

were there any major tests scheduled that day?

Always was someone claiming they weren't ready and should phone in a bomb threat to get out of the test. Probably more of a legend than reality, but you never know....

We had a number of bomb threats when I was in middle and high school. One time someone even went to the trouble of making a fake bomb and sticking it in the bathroom with a wrist watch glued to it.

In at least two of the many we had, the kids who called it in were caught and punished. On one occasion I believe it was simply a diversion because at the same time we had a bomb threat at the high school a small grocery store was held up and robbed on the other side of town (this was a very small town so if there was a bomb threat all four of the on duty cops responded).

As students....we welcomed anything that got us out of class so they never bothered me. Of course.....we never had one while it was raining either.
