I thought ya'll just ate watermelons and spit the seeds at each other in Luling

Murray's BBQ outside Cooper Texas. Little shack looking place, serves your meal on paper plates with a little attitude. Can't beat it.

(the worse the place looks, the better the BBQ)

The Salt Lick in Driftwood TX. Just about dirt floors, BYOB, and open pit in the middle of the place.

This should br interesting with all of the different people here. Another board i read (Aggie) has a monthly "best bbq" thread and everything is about Texas bbq. I pretty much refuse to order bbq outside of Texas, except when i travel to Tennessee and get some pork bbq--good, but different taste.

Best bbq is the brisket off of my backyard smoker with good beer and good friends. Elgin sausage is awesome! Many good bbq joints around texas; as always, hole in the walls are great like Thelmas near Downtown Houston. I have heard good things about Salt Lick in driftwood. Rudy's is good chain bbq. I had a good meal at some little joint in Dripping Springs not to long ago.

I think i am going have to have some bbq for lunch now

amen to that! some of the best bbq joints are just a little shack or trailers. a while back in winnie,tx there was a guy parked in a hotel parking lot between i-10 and hwy 73 w/ just a little trailer and a smoker. MAN! talk about good! he had been in cook-off for the houston rodeo and done pretty good against some big teams, all by himself.
