Boiler-rat, that news sucks big time!!! Sorry to hear about that. As has already been said, each case is a bit different. Please keep us updated on just where it is hitting her body and her progress. Is she married and does she have kids? I'm heading to my prayer time in a few minutes and she will be added to my prayers. Can you provide her first name as that makes it easier to pray for her?
I want to thank everyone for your comments an prayers. My daughters name is Amy. She is married and has one daughter. Her husband is a great guy and I am sure will be very supportive. Anyone that knows Amy knows that even something like this won't break her spirit. She is the type of person that tries to help everyone else. Thanks again. We are a close knit family but it is really good to talk to other people about things.
Boiler-Rat, my favorite Great-Aunt (her name was Helga) had MS for many, many, many years. She had a wonderful spirit was a beautiful person. One thing she did every day was swim - even in her golden years.
As it was said earlier, MS can vary with different folks. Continue to shower her with love. Tell her she's in my prayers.

I have a illness very close to MS in it's attack of the neurological system but my disease is genetic unlike MS . I lost my brother with this illness in 1978 and I do not believe in the standard medical approach to MS and my illness Adrenoleukodystropy . I have seen amazing results with diet change and a naturopathic approach to MS and my illness . Many people believe MS is a direct result of food additives , please have your daughter look at this method . Stay away from most prescription medicines they do more harm then good and cure nothing just treat systems with awful side effects . Do your homework do not depend on the doctors , use the Internet and you will find ton's of information . I have seen good results with a drug called Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) read up on it . There is a treatment called bee sting therapy that has cured many MS patients . Diet is the most important only organic whole foods , no processed foods !! Put her on a good supplement regiment like Standard Process products . I should have put this on top but pray god answerers prayer I 'am living proof of that . A search of my illness should prove that to you , I should have been dead long ago according to the doctors and I' am still walking and talking at 47 .
Sorry to hear about that man, I always hate to hear news like that!! But she'll be ok, anymore they can usually treat it extremely well and people can live a normal happy life.
My co-worker was diagnosed 2 years ago with MS and he is doing just fine. He gives himself a shot a day with some meds and it seems to keep him healthy and happy.
I'll be thinking about her and you as well, so please keep us up to date on how she is doing and tell her I wish her and all of your family the best.

Sorry to hear the bad news for your daughter. She will be in my thoughts as well.
My sister-in-law has had MS for years and has affected her balance and at times bladder control. She gets around with her cane ... some days needs my brother as well to keep her upright. A great attitude and an indominable spirit is what will help her along ... from the way you describe her, she is all that !!
Hang in there ...

I'll be praying for your daughter, Amy, as well as her family as well...and along those lines:
Take advantage of some orginizations such as Focus on the Family, KLOVE radio, and other sites on the internet where she can be even more lifted up in prayer. You are doing the right thing...asking for others to pray for and support you and your family in these times. We're all here for you and your family!!

My mom was diagnosed with MS last year and she's taking injections once a week. The injection makes her not feel so hot for the next day, but for the most part she is doing fine. The disease is different for each person. I hope it works out okay for you and your family.

I read this web site the other day and it goes along with my belief on MS please have your daughter check it out http://web.archive.org/web/200411030...org/roger.html I have seen a method like this work many times in all kinds of different illnesses . The medical approach to this illness does not work to cure anything and in many cases makes it a lot worse .
