WEEKEND, and a hot one, could reach 30*c tomorrow, thatīs just too much for me, Iīll keep in the shadow.

On the other hand, itīs nice to see the farmers running like crazy to get their harvest done, with those combines as big as houses.
And then one farmer not far from here still runs his 8ī tractordriven thing, must be at least 30 years old, and running good.

Slev, speaking of farmers how did the weather treat yours this year.
A lot of ours got treated pretty badly.

Evening all, it is going to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend in the shadow of the Rockies, 30C tomorrow and Sunday. The garden is going nuts right now. We have shucked, blanched and frozen 9lbs of peas already this week. Supper tonight is going to include grilled corn on the cob the got picked 15 minutes ago. We have peas, beans, zucchini, assorted summer squash, onions and zucchini everywhere. The spuds and winter squash aren't ready yet.

Does anyone have a good recipe for dill pickled cucumbers? We get a couple of cukes every day so something that can be done reasonably in small batches or some kind of crock recipe that you keep adding cukes to would be ideal.

Have a good evening y'all. It is time to grab a beverage and head out on the deck.

Who is Blanch? And did she develop some method related to the preservation of peas?

Evening all.

Blanch is the woman who takes the veggies out of the garden, prepares them and then preserves them.

wonder why you are not ten hundred pounds, cake wife. sheesh.
Only reason I don't weigh ten hundred pounds is she bakes alot of white cakes and chocolet cakes... my cake of choice is the red velvet she doesn't bake too many of them.

I have the weekend to think about the job.

Evening DTR, work was good today and it was pay day!

Got some taters baking and some new york strip steaks on the grill for diner tonight.

I picked it up on a whim, never had it before, but the more I drink of it, the more I like it.
