After they left we discovered our remote controls for the TV and Sat were missing.
Than we got a call from our friends who had gotten to Anchorage (200 miles away). They had found our remotes in the kids bag. He had borrowed the batteries and meant to give them back.
I actually had to get up to change channels on the TV for a couple of days until they got mailed back!!!

Here's old for ya; I didn't watch the opening ceremonies, I didn't watch ANY of the games and I didn't watch the closing ceremonies. The Olympics aren't what they used to be or what they were originally intended to be. Those people dedicate every aspect of their entire life to their chosen sport in the hopes that they'll get selected with the end result being an endorsement deal from someone. It's basically pro sports without the mega-million contracts.

I know what you mean about the needle...I had to have one driven into the center of my right arm bone to take a marrow sample...I been through a LOT over the years, more scar tissue than skin according to Madhat.. hahaha but my wife said when they shoved that needle through the bone it was the first time she heard me yell Owww!

twitchit, I hope you are saying you just got a paid unexpected paid vacation....

Cougar, prayers sent from WV for your Wife's speedy recovery...

The rest of you guys and gals, stay safe!...I want to hear GOOD stories this week full of happy heathy DTROnians

One more thing...I saw where several people mentioned being OLD....well I got you all beat this evening.......

I used to play a decent game of 8 ball but my game has suffered the last 10 years because on my hip...now that I got a new one I decided to go play a game...

A new place opened up about 2 miles from me called the Full Rack, I grabbed my Custom Cuestick and headed on down there to see if I could get on a table.....

Well folks, you KNOW you are TOO old when you have to walk into a place before you realize that the name Full Rack has NOTHING to do with Billiards

Oh sure there was a couple tables in there but all the attention was on the well endowed bartenders Full Rack...

Going to sip on my Ensure now and maybe buff out my bunions

Dealing with the public can suck. I was turning on and shutting off electric to customers and part of the area I covered was nice and had no problem but the other half was in Gary, IN...a town thats a big pile of Pelosi and is very dangerous. When I did my work in Gary it was mainly for theft of service, it's amazing what people will do to get electricity to there house.

Can you give the Janitor a good buffing too? He's looking a little faded and dusty.

Evening DTRonions! Work went well today. Weather here was cool and rainy, actually it felt like fall today. It was nice since we've had a very hot summer here. Got some picture from the top of the power plant today on my phone, now I gotta figure out how to post them on here.

Pot of beef stew cooking for dinner tonight.

My view from the 8th elevation at the plant today. I was on the elevation where the coal is loaded into the bunkers so it can be fed into the boiler. Pictures show the switchyard, intake pond, and the discharge pond. I was around 200 ft up in the plant when I took this. If I went any higher I would have been on the roof.

They don't seem that tall from the ground but when you're up in one you can get a good view for miles. The 5 stacks they have at this plant are all around 600 ft tall.

One of the IV techniques that is now becoming popular is called the 'intraosseous' needle. It's a faster method than tapping into a vein to get meds into a patient. The apparatus kinda resembles a mini-cork screw and you literally screw it into a bone until it gets into the marrow. Conscious patients don't generally like this!

Ah, Gary! I have a friend who is a firefighter there. He says it's as bad as Detroit. From the pictures I've seen, he's right.

Thats what that was!!!
Recently I was blocking traffic for a life flight helicopter at an accident and I saw this guy using what looked like an electric screw driver
going right into a lower leg bone than connected an IV to it.
Man, I would not want to be awake for that.

These last years have been tough on ya but you just keep going.
People like you who actually care about people and things can be terrible about taking care of themselves.
Thinking some good thoughts for you and those who are sick.
Thanks Bark, if you only knew. I do appreciate all the kind thoughts though, you can never have too many.

Scott, if I ever get to have some down time you will. North Platte boasts the largest swith yard in the world. I don't know if it is but big would be an understatement.

Matt, good to see you again.

Evening gang. Ron left me a message about 0900 this morning, Laverne passed about 2300 last night. I wish I could be there for my friend.

Greetings. I was called out for an emergency run down to Minot ND today for a train derailment. About an hour into the trip I get a call from dispatch that I cannot go because they didn't file my drug test with usdot and this would result in a fine of $5,000.00 for me and $5,000.00 for the company after an audit...not immediately. I came home.
Apparently there are or were 356 people in varying conditions from unharmed to injured but mobile that needed to be moved.

Thursday I am off on a trip up north to a very high end Golf and Country Club or 5 days. My wife and daughter are meeting me up there.

Gary Indiana... I stayed in the Flying J parking lot a few times there.
The last time I was there...was the last time. A guy came up to me showing me his Schnieder drivers I.D. asking for 2 dollars to get coffee while he waits for his comcheck to hit the system. The guy beside me told me to get in my truck...now! I did and then this guy started going ballistic. I looked in my side mirrors to see two SWAT officers on either side of my truck motioning for me to be quiet...they took this guy down right in front of my truck!
Apparently he had just raped and killed a woman on the other side of the parking lot in a treed area. The other driver that was walking out to his truck beside mine saw the commotion over by the trees and then he noticed a SWAT officer on top of his trailer signalling him to get out of the way.

What a way to start the day!

All is well here. Take Care folks.

I kind of think Lary should have dropped his pants and showed off his LEGGS at the RACK!

Hi Bobby, I have been sneakin in here ALTURDING the Pho0o0 Goo FORE! Ewe.
