asphalt tire ??

hey guys, i help a couple guys at our local asphalt track. they just announced in a few weeks they were going to have a run what ya brung race for our class ,OPEN RULES, we have alot of stuff to do with the car, one question i have that i dont want to ask around here is about tires. we run 8" hoosier F75s, the late model class runs 10" i think 3035 on the left and 3045 on the right. we ran a race like this once before and used four Lm tires, worked awesome, problem is with this race being at our track everyone will have them, so no advantage gained.

MY QUESTION..... does anyone know of any other compound/brand tire around 10" wide that will get us an advantage over the field? i dont want to ask our tire guy or the old tire guy because they are affiliated with competitors. hope someone can help. thanks

What track is this at? Norway? Goodyear 10" used to be kinda close to hoosier in terms of grip. But I personally would run 3035 all the way around if I could get the proper stagger out of them. 3035's are softer than 3045.
What class do you guys normally run, mid-am style sportsman or a area type sportsman? Bret

yes its for norway, we run super stocks, which is alot like the mid-am cars. stock frames tho. the deal is everyone is going to be on 3035s, i'm on to some 3025s, have to see if any come thu. dont want to buy new ones for one race. its going to be on the 23rd if you want to come up and wach/run. have a 4cyl enduro also, i will be racing in that.

How many laps are going to be run? I say get the softest slick you can find, the 3035's, may be good, and then treat them with track claw till the day of the event, and let them sit out in the sun during the day with the treatment on them and wrapped in plastic. Then keep brushing the treatment on each day till the event comes. Keep sunning the tires as well.

I hope you have the car off the ground as it sits now, so the suspension is kept soft, instead of it just sitting.

I race an pure stock in GA.
