Anyone tried this 'beer'?
Notice I have the word beer in ' '... I think that it's close to a sin to call it that...
(There used to be a pic of budweiser clamato here) (stupid photobucket)
This is one of the most terrible things that I have ever drank that was sold in a store. Who's idea was this?

Budweiser, clam juice, tomato, salt and lime. I figured it would not be so bad, but it was way to carbonated...
Don't do it. I had to pour it out...

Oh... blugh!
Maybe it was just a bad can... I love tomato juice, bud, salt and lime... I'm a pretty good fan of shellfish (oysters, mainly). If it would have been smoother, more tomato... I think that it would have been cool...

Haha, I have never tried it and not sure if I want to....but I had and employee requesting it the other day when I went on a beer run for the shop. I almost fell over laughing when I saw the can of what he had requested. I think I will stick to my Coors Light and Shiner
First place I ever saw anything similar was in Mexico. You could get a Chelada, but I thought it was just tomato juice (or V8) and lime. Never heard of using Clamato till that stuff came out. There was another version called a Michelada (sp?) that was tomato juice, worcestershire and lime. Basically a bloody mary with beer.
They were handing this stuff out at our BBQ cookoff in May to promote it. I had to pass.
On a related "beer" topic, does anyone remember the Budweiser Energy drink, Bud E?

I tell you, the Bud Light with Lime is pretty dang good, and a bit cheaper than Coronas down here. But I'm more of a dark beer man myself, Ziegenbock, Shiner Bock, Blonde, Black Lager, even the spezial lite is pretty good. The Shiner Hefeweizen, well, I'm getting used to it, the honey and citrus flavor aren't really good for sitting around drinking, but at a restaurant it'd be ok.
familiar story. Maybe that's why they don't make Bud E anymore. Our women ran um off. I will say that stuff made you say hold my beer and watch this, 10x more than any other beer
Yeah, but after you drank enough of them, you were left with a nice energy drink crash in addition to your hangover.
The year they were handing them out, it was about 105 outside and everyone was drinking them like water. When the sun went down and people slowed down their consumption, everyone looked like the walking dead. Nothing like a good high energy buzz coupled with some alcohol enhanced judgment to ensure a good time.
