I would ask if your house is insured in case of fire, caused by appliance shorting out because of flood waters.

After calling to repair companies and getting this "if they are working now....what do you want us to do" speach, I'm going to have to discuss all these issues with the adjuster unfortunately. Not looking forward to his response either.

All the appliances that were in the flood here were replaced. Even lawnmowers that were underwater were replaced.

Why not go online and find the same ins. co as you have there in Indiana and look in Coffeyville, Ks or Osawatomie, Ks and call an agent in one of those cities and ask them how they handled their clients during the July, 08 flood. Then when you talk to your agent you can tell them how the same company handled it.

I'd gather all the data I could before I talked to the ins. agent. Once they state their position it's extremely difficult to get them to change their position. It's like getting them to admit they made a mistake the first time, very difficult to do!

Well if it happened in July of 08 looks like they have plenty of time to prepare!! Must have meant 07?

I'm still waiting on a response. I did talk to the agent again. He said not to get too worried until the adjuster comes to look. He said he could get involved to help mediate if needed. Others in town haven't had any trouble with the adjuster, so he doesn;t expect me to either. We'll see!

Yeah it took a day or two for mine to get a response. You can always bump it too. Oh and make sure that you have it set up to notify you of a reply, mine was not and I had to go check on my own.
