Public land in Texas? (quail hunting)

I'm looking online at the TX hunting regs and found out about their million plus acres of walk in hunting, and since we were talking about going to Texas to quail hunt next season (since I can't make the Sask trip) and were wondering how the quail populations on the public land have been the past few years. We realize a lot can change by next season, but numbers here are up from last year (not that it took much to be up from what they were)

So any of yall have any experience with the public quail in Texas?

I went quail hunting in KS this year since last year it was so great.. and this year it wasn't that great. So yeah it varies year to year in some cases.

Not that I'm as pro, but I absolutely love it, best hunting ever. The reason I posted was to subscribe.

We are gonna do Kansas next year too. We get a little obsessed If there were enough quail, I think I'd forget about pretty much everything else.

This year was much better than last in OK...
