Vandalism and Security Systems w/photos

Ok guys and gals... somebody decided to disgrace my baby and broke the passenger side glass out. Perhaps it was a theft gone wrong. Perhaps they can't drive a manual transmission. The passenger side door wasn't even unlocked. Regardless, I'm pretty steamed about it....

Thankfully, it appears nothing was stolen.

So, I'm in the process of getting the glass repaired but I need advice on a security system. What do the fine folks on dtr use and/or recommend??

and in a strange twist... a guy working construction close to the glass shop said that his Duramax and another Cummins were both broken in to in a parking lot full of gasser trucks... I guess diesels are targets because of the extensive aftermarket gear available for them...

My opinion, there's only so much you can do. Some lowlife swiped my $39 Walmart radio. Tore up a $200 dash bezel to get it out. I would recomend a started disabling system. Maybe a loud alarm, but uaually nobody reacts other than there goes another one when they go off. Maybe it'll scare them off. Maybe they'll pick up the back wheels and roll it away.

Better insurance is probably your best choice.

Ravelco to keep it from being hotwired and a good alarm with a relay to turn on air horns. That should jolt their nerves.

Exactly-cbrahs is a Ravelco rep on this site, and he could probably get you hooked up with one in your area. And make sure that you hook up the airhorns on the INSIDE of the cab-look for the burglar with the bleeding ears
