Any MAN Diesel knowledge here?
Hey all, I am doing a F/O system on a straight 6 MAN Diesel 500hp, don't have model yet, but am wondering if it is necessary for the supply F/O line to the lift pump on the injection pump to be -12. I think -08 or -10 would be sufficient. Also any past experience with these MAN engines would be appreciated. Thanks\

If you can give me a little more info I can look into it- the secondary production plant of MAN is about 30 kms from my home.
On the newer models you will most definitely need a very well flowing fuel supply to avoid running into heat troubles on the IP.

AlpineRam, thanks, so what I am seeing attached to the injection pump where the -12 supply comes in is a mechanical lift pump/hand prime pump. The current supply lines are -12 aeroquip F332. These lines are very flexible , meaning I can squeeze them with my fingers. I plan on replacing them with -12 aeroquip Fc235 stainless braided hose inside, rubber outside. I am doing the work for a friend here in NJ. I also have to replace the intake horn from the turbo to the intercooler, it has a crack in it. when I get the exact model I'll post it.
