any cb experts on here???

im looking for someone who knows quite a bit about cbs...i have heard rumors that dual antennas on trucks wont work well because there not 10ft apart...however i have dual 2fts in my bed, never checked swr or anything, i just set them halfway out on the adjustment, and have used the same setup for about 3 diff years on a couple diff trucks, and from doing testing with a couple guys, i cant seem to tell a difference, mine seems to work just the same as the guys with 1 tall antenna..so just curious if that rumor is just false, or if somehow i got really lucky??

Dual wips need to be at least 9 feet apart to work correctly. Dual antennas will give you a more directional front/back transmit and receive. A single antenna gives an almost omni-directional transmit/receive with a good ground plane. You should tune your antenna for a SWR of 1.5 or below. Running high SWRs gives very poor transmit performance and will eventually burn up a high powered CB.

so what i heard is correct...i wonder why it is that my un-tuned dual setup seems to transmit and receieve with the same quality/distance as others with a single antenna.....
