I like the antique pullers. One of my local favorites is a Farmall 460 gasser w/torque amplifier....get the sled going good then hit the TA and really take off. Les' see, a 460 Diesel TA and send the injectors to Don M....

A little trivia..... It wasn't until 1954 that there were an equal number of tractors farming as there were horses. It just goes to show you how people resist change. That was an article in "Yesterday's Tractor Forum".

I have two olivers, one is a Row Crop 77 gasser the other is a 770 gasser. I also have two Farmalls. A '51 Farmall M-D, talk about a morphadite of a motor, it has injectors and the injection pump on once side and on the other it has plugs and a carb and a magneto. it's wierd looking, it starts on gas and then switches to diesel. The other farmall is a '50 H. The M-D is my project for this winter. I want an Oliver super 99 with the detroit in it.

Hey JDGnut,
Those look like 18-38's on the rear of that there G. You should see our 50 with them. I guess as long as we have the motor to turn them then were doing good. The antique tractor pulling became very addictive quick for me.
Now if we could find an 820 diesel or a D we would be set. Would like to pull in the 10,000lb class some day. We run the 50 up to 6,000lb and after that we start running out of motor. It still makes me fel good to pull with a 50 aginst the A's and some G's and hold my own.

Yes.. I run 18.4's on both of the G's.. This was the first pull for this tractor.. The 50 with that low gear is tuff... same with the 60's and A's...
10K.. is going to be tuff... You won't make it in a D without a lot of work.. just too high geared... (but lots of cubes to start with..) the 80-830 won't take much work to handle those weight classes...
Good Luck.. and have fun..

I learned it likes to pop out of gear.. so I was holding it in gear.. just in case..
