Talking Another new toy

Killer customer service.
A couple of months ago my laptop started having some issues so I took it back to Fry's because I have the 5 year PG on it. Anyhow they sent it in to the shop and because it is a Fujitsu it went back to their service center and Fry's gave me a loaner. Then after about 2 months I got a card that said it was ready to be picked up, so on Sunday I came in to get it and I gave it the once over before I said OK. Now I see some fine scratches on the LCD screen and I know they were not there when I sent it. The tech looked at it and said it looks like it is where the keys touch the screen. I said I don't think the keys are supposed to touch the screen and I said I would not take it and I want to see the store manager but of course he was not there on Sunday so I will come back on Monday.
Today I went to the store and I ask for the manager, he came and I explained what was wrong ans showed him the scratches and is seems the repais are all packed up and then sent out by a carrier like UPS. What it looks like happened is that it was indeed caused from the keys but only because something was stacked on top of this box. Sooo he ask what would you like me to do? Since it has been for repair 2 times already I said how about if you give me credit towards a new unit?
Now I spend around $1000.00 a month at this store between work and my toys, so he looked at me and Ill see what I can do. He came back and said the best I can do is I will give you full credit for the laptop but I will have to prorate the 2 years off the warranty. I said sounds good to me... So I had the laptop for 2 years and I got $2300.00 credit to buy a new one. Now that is not bad.. But of course it is like a house and the prices went up or maybe my taste just went up. I finally walked out the door with a new Fujitsu N6010-261 3.2 Ghz processor, 100 gb hard drive, 1 gb DDR memory, 17"widescreen, built in TV tuner and a new 5 year PG and it only cost $3047.98 minus the $2300.00

** As we were doing the returns, they put a markdown sticker on it for $1000.00 and the tech said he wanted it and bought it right then.

So I basicly got back the full price I paid 2 years ago and only paid the diffrence. Thats customer satisfaction
Now my laptop is almost the fastest computer I have, my desktop is 3.8 Ghz.
Oh yea I also got a bluetooth wireless mouse.
Anyone else have a Fujitsu?
Jim.

So I'm not talking to you anymore.

I dont see what all the fuss is about.

Ive had really good luck with my set up. Sure it takes more power than our A/C unit and just over a week to boot up, but once its running,... look out! Im a floppy-swapping fool!

DieselDaze,

I'm jealous. That looks like a Commodore 64. I've only got a Vic 20.

How are you supposed to fit the Rosetta Stone in the floppy drive?

Talking Laptop

Well I had to get a new laptop because my old one only had a 1200 baud modem and man, it took forever to download pictures.
and it was a real pain to take my console TV monitor to the job.
Jim.

Ha I didn't think anybody even knew what these things were? Man I just had to have one of these when they first came out. Did you punch the floppy so you could use both sides? Still have abut 100 games for C-64
You obviously did not have the Quick Boot module for yours.

That's the right smiley, alright. I'd suggest one of those old-style suitcase carts.
