For all hunters

Just a bit of humor<br><br>6:45 a.m.-Quiet in the woods. On stand now, still dark out. Feel strong, aware, waiting for the world to turn. Today’s the day! Best way to get a big buck, sit all day, wait him out, Dawn till dusk. Easy. Discipline’s my middle name.<br>7:00 a.m.- sun up now. The day begins! No deer yet.<br>7:20 a.m.-Still no deer.<br>7:21 a.m.-Have to go to the bathroom, too much coffee for breakfast. Get out of stand.<br>7:24 a.m.-Done. Get back in stand.<br>7:25 a.m.-No deer. What’s happening? Why no deer? Left field’s early? Still coming?<br>7:26 a.m.-Have to remain positive. Stop questioning. Deer here, They will come.<br>7:28 a.m.-Nothing moving, Open thermos, coffee break.<br>7:50a.m.-Have to go to bathroom, get out of stand.<br>7:55a.m.- Done. Get back in stand.<br>8:00a.m.-No deer, Probably no deer in the area, Over hunted? Poachers? Nope, must be full moon. Getting bored.<br>9:00a.m.-Oops. Must have dozed off. Missed one little hour, Big deal, No dear anyway. Need more coffee.<br>9:05a.m.-Finished last of coffee.<br>9:15a.m.- Have to go to bathroom.<br>9:20a.m.- Done. Get back in stand.<br>9:22a.m.-This stand suck’s, Should be somewhere else. Anywhere else. No deer here, Too many coyotes.<br>9:23a.m.-Lunch time? Not quite, still 2 ½ hours away. Cant wait, starving.<br>9:30a.m.-Lunch gone. Regret. Show discipline. Keep last cookie for later.<br>9:32a.m.-Cookie in lunch bag.<br>9:35a.m.-Make sure cookie is OK. Yep, looks fine.<br>9:45a.m.-Fidgeting, Play mind games.<br>9:47a.m.-Lost mind games. Getting hungry. Wonder how cookie is.<br>9:49a.m.-Cookie still fine.<br>9:55a.m.-No deer left in the entire country! Getting really bored.<br>10:55a.m.-Oop’s, must have dozed off, No deer, Eyes heavy.<br>11:55 a.m.- Oop’s, must have dozed off again. How long? Starving feeling. Lunch long gone.<br>Noon-Famished! Going to die. No, Wait! Cookie! Just remembered cookie!<br>12:02 p.m.-No. Don’t eat cookie. Five more hours to go. Must have cookie for emergency.<br>12:10p.m.-Cookie. Cookie. Cookie. Cookie. <br>12:12p.m.- Cookie gone.<br>12::20p.m.-Filled with self loathing, No discipline.<br>12:30p.m.-Stand in wrong spot? No way. Have faith.<br>12:32p.m.-Move stand? No. Never. Well … Maybe.<br>12:33p.m.-Just a short move. Over to other tree.<br>1:00p.m.-Done. stand moved.<br>1:25p.m.-No deer.<br>1:29p.m.- Getting bored again. Brain rot.<br>1:33p.m.-Check watch, Four hour to go.<br>1:35p.m.-Need to keep mind active. Count leaves on tree.<br>2:40p.m.-Oops must have dozed off.<br>3:20 p.m.-More than 130,984 leaves on tree.<br>3:23p.m.-Stand sucks! Deer nocturnal. Might as well call it quits. NO! YES, QUIT! NO! YES, QUIT! NO!<br>3:30p.m.-120 minutes and fourteen second to go.<br>3:32p.m.-Wind wrong? Must move stand again.<br>4:00 p.m.-Back to original tree. Almost prime time.<br>4:05p.m.-Must go to bathroom. Get out of stand.<br>4:10p.m.- Done. Get back in stand.<br>4:30p.m.-One hour to go.<br>4:31p.m.-59 minutes to go.<br>4:50p.m.-Maybe should check trail in front of stand for sign. Get out of stand.<br>5:00p.m.-Back in stand. No fresh sign.<br>5:01p.m.-Check watch. Only 29 minutes left to go.<br>5:05p.m.-Hear shot! Hope they got a rat. Jealousy rearing ugly head. Good news, though, Deer must be moving.<br>5:10p.m.-Not moving here. Must remember to move stand tomorrow.<br>5:15p.m.-Last minute of legal light. Everything still. Best time of the day.<br>5:28p.m.-Buck, Right in front of me! Legal light. Buck to small. Close call. Stand location perfect. Knew it. Where there’s one buck there’s more.<br>5:30 p.m.-It’s over, Buck moved on. Beautiful. Classic hunt. Discipline paid off. Cant wait until tomorrow. Time to get out of stand. Have to go to the bathroom.

You mean the squirrels chasing each other just out of sight that sounds like a whole herd of deer coming to you?<br><br>Or the one that runs up a tree 20 feet away from you and starts hollering as soon as a deer comes into sight?<br><br>I swear squirrels must be paid snitches for the deer

The squirrels are bad but I really hate that Big Tom that I never see in the spring that comes crashing through the trees while I'm napping. &gt;<br><br>It's a good thing my stand has a safety belt. :'(<br><br>DB
