Air Impact Gun's

So I was thinking of getting a cordless one, but then I have to worry about my batteries crapping out in the future. So I think I will get a 3/8 air impact to go with my 1/2" impact. The reason is my 1/2 seems like over kill in alot of situation, and can be kinda heavy some times.

My 1/2" gun is an IR 2135TI gun, I really like it, I have had it for 9 years. My question does anyone own the 3/8 version of this gun, how is it, do you like does it compare to the 2135TI.

My other option is a snap-on 3/8 I found a great deal on a new one that a kid bought for going to school but quite school, gun is new and comes with protective sleeve. I know snap on make good tools, just don't know much about their impacts. Also its a 90th Aniv addtion if that matter at all. Still about 150 cheaper then the same model(non 90th addition) on snap-on site.

Also has anyone rebuild a 2135 gun, my seems alittle tired compared to what it use to be, I do lube it when I use it, but I see they sell rebuild kits, was wondering if they help alot.

Have you considered an air ratchet?
I have a cheapy 3/8" drive and use it way more
than I ever thought I would, it only hits to 50lb
but I pull on it when I have the trigger down like it
is a breaker bar for the tight stuff.
Mine is just like this but a different name on it:

Here's an IR :

I think a 1/2" air ratchet would be more appropriate. I have a craftsman branded 3/8" and it quite honestly doesn't have enough torque for the majority of applications where you would use a 3/8" ratchet.

Also have 1/2 IR ratchet

Looking for a 3/8 impact, for smaller bolts so I don't have to worry about busting them with the 1/2

I've got the snap-on 14.4 volt 3/8ths gun. the little thing is a beast. besides being crushed by a bus it is still kicking and the batteries have lasted a pretty good time too. I would definitley recommend it. it is a little pricey tho

Snap-On makes a cordless one, and it has had some really good reviews ..... however, it's a Snap-On so expect it to be big $$$.

To answer your question, I've got both the 3/8 and 1/2 versions of the IR. I previously had a Snap-On 3/8 but after many warranty issues replaced it with the IR. Very happy with both guns, no issues other than normal maintenance, but the Snap-On felt like it had a bit more power to it.

I picked up a mp325 snapon 3/8 impact gun a few months ago. Pricey but very nice. From what I hear most in the auto field are using the 3/8 gun for everything.

I have one of the 3/8ths guns and it's a very good one, all I use for air tools is IR and have not been unhappy with anything they've made yet.

I have both 3/8 and 1/2 impacts as well as a 3/8 ratchet. I never use the 3/8 impact anymore since I got the ratchet.... Definitely need to look ahead at what uses you will have for it. I have found that the ratchet is handier than a pocket on a shirt.

I've got a 1/2" IR thundergun, and a 3/8" IR impact. When I was a mechanic I used my 3/8 gun, and my air ratchets for everything. I dont have the TI version, its a couple years old, but it's got some nice power to it. I would reccommend it. And dont bother gettin 3/8" impact sockets, I've never broke a socket on the gun. Snap-on's air ratchets are awesome, they'll break ur wrists, not sure on their impacts. My boss had an older one, and it couldnt touch mine, but it was pretty wore out.
