Why would you even ask?!?! Sawzall, welder, 3-lb hand sledge... ya got the tools, just shut up and get to work!

When you're done, remember to take the dakota's old engine and weld it between the frame rails out back- it's the only way you'll have any traction.

one of the people i talked to said it would be easier to put the dakota cab and bed on the power wagon frame... no engine mounts to make, no oil pan modifications ...ect.........i think i'll look into it

Good thinking there. The 440 is a great engine either way. If I was gonna build one again I would definitely look into some kind of a fuel injection setup for it. Almost all the problems I had over the years in my old cars were due to carburetor/spark plug issues. Fuel injection pretty much gets rid of those once you have it tuned right....

Ide put the 440 in the Dakota. Otherwise its still a ramcharger and just as heavy, it just looks like a Dakota. To me the fun would be in having way to much engine in a little pacage. Putting a small body on a large platform still makes it drive like the large vehicle.

There's a fella over on one of my other forums that has a 408 (I think) in his Dakota. If they are much like the 440 I'm sure it could be done!

A 408 is just a stroked 360.... a mean stroked 360. That would be a small dog compared to a built 800hp 440.

http://www.engine-swaps.com/ There you go, pre-made engine mounts, plugs some other goodies that might help you. Really great people to deal with and a good product. I got some stuff from them for my Challenger.
