30hp john deere dsl project

This motor came out of a air compressor i used on the job, the compressor went down after i had the motor rebuilt so i ended up buying a new compressor for work. So now i got this fresh motor that i'm dying to do something with. I'm thinking of building a mower if i can figure out a pulley sytem for it. I also thought of trying to find a little truck to put it in to see if i could get 50 mph out of it. this thing (3cyl) would run 8-9hrs a day for three days on a 25gal tank. compressors i rented (4cyl) would only run 1 day. I don't know if that idea if pausable or not, what do you guys think?

Tell 'ya what I'd do is swap it in one of those chevy/geo tracker things. They're small enough where you could get away with running errands w/30 hp. Plus, they have solid axles and old jeeps are just too darn expensive. I'd take a rig like that to get the Sunday paper and coffee--no need to awake the mighty Cummins for such a petty task

i have a 4 cylinder diesel from a theremo king that i have been thinking about putting in something small. trackers and side kick have a independent front suspension, so i don't think they will do. but the samurai has solid axles and leaf springs and i belive it would be a much better swap into.

Ooooh that thermo king diesel is probably a Perkins 90hp or so. That would be perfect in a Geo. I can see it now: Geo tracker, 35" mudders, 9" lift, 90hp Perkins, Ultimate 4-wheelin tuff truck...lol
