I had a thread at one time about my mom's '92 Olds dying. It now has a new CPS and starts and runs very well. The problem: How long will it run? Before, it would run for two minutes and other times it would run for 15 minutes,or so, before it would die. I need to make a 130 mile trip to get it inspected and registered before I can sell it, but just don't trust it.

Many years ago, I knew how to read the codes with a paper clip but can't remember the details. Does anyone know the procedure?

 

Jump the aldl from pin a to pin b, then count the flashes of the CEL. it should flash code 12, 3 times then start flashing other codes. (12 is just a check code, to make sure pcm is operational) then look up the codes.
