I have a pinched nerve in my back & when I get nervous, it looks like I'm dancing. When he walked out, I started shaking pretty bad. I had to calm down for a minute before shooting, then he heard me & took off running....I took him out!

Nice buck. Meat in the freezer! I took a big boy early during bow season and haven't had much time since then to get back out and doe hunt for some more meat. Shotgun season just ended and muzzy starts this weekend, but I'll hopefully be back out with my bow a few more times before it's over. Hopefully the orange hat army has gone home so it can be peaceful in the woods again.

Thanks guys. My brother got a 11 point 2 years ago & he got it mounted where the deers head is turned to the right, makes a great corner mount. If only his wife would let him hang it. If he wears the pants, she is the belt.

Don't have any pics here at work, but I got a pretty decent 8 pointer this year...HUGE bodied fella...field dressed at 226! Horns weren't as impressive as yours though...and two does. 18qt jars canned, 26pt jars canned, 18lbs of deer burger, 12 loin cuts, 6 roasts, 6 tenderloins, 14lbs of jerky (about 8lbs dehydrated) later, I am lookin pretty good on meat this winter!

Got me a forkie this year-looks like he had a brow tine, but it must have broke off rutting or something. It was the first father/son hunting trip, with me taking my dad out hunting-got him the first day of the hunt, and we scared up 2 cats along the way to our hunting overlook-lotsa fun!

As far as the mount--it all depends where you want to hang it. A straight on mount could be used anywhere, but doesn't give the deer much character. This year's buck is the first I'm getting mounted and I'm using a rut mount because his neck was massive (246 lbs dressed weight) and he had that exact pose when I put an arrow through him. The rut mount really shows off a large neck. Your buck has nice G2's and G3's that might look good with a proud mount (upright with head turned left or right). I would talk with the taxidermist and also figure out where you might want to hang it. That should give you a better idea. Here's some examples of common mounts.
