Talking Try the janitor's coffee, not a nip but a full fanged BITE!

War Stories is right, but they are better around a table where we can show off scars to top each other like in the movie JAWS.....after a good day of DTR fun of course! got to have that North-South get together...

Looking GOOD, MADHAT! Past, Present and hopefully at your retirement yeah, fun time begins now at what? eight weeks into training?

VERY COOL to hear from all the different DTR members who have learned to find this thread by the funky asteriks.....keep on POSTIN' !! love to hear about what is going on in your world!

ROB, scary but cool stuff. they are playing around here with new radios
amazing at what they can do now.....Rochester, NY has some well hidden world business leaders that are cutting edge technology...and here I thought all was lost to the Japanese....

T RAD! I will try to scoot over to a work site near my place that had an excavator flip over road guy lines. operator extended boom and bucket to balance off ground, still track- hung on the cables. guy will probably need new pants.....will try for pic for your inspiration

enjoy the beverages here fellas! just watch out for the smoldering spots where janitor's coffee spilled.....

Red_Angus, welcome to the breakroom. You'll have to raid the janitor's closet to find any napkins, towels, cleaner, can't find any brooms in there though.

Afternoon.

Just woke up. This night/ afternoon shift or what ever you want to call it is going to be a pain in the keester. At 0330 when I get off, home at 0400, wide awake. Everyone else asleep and in dream land. Not a good time to start the lawn mower or chain saw or vacuum, sooo, read a few posts and then try to sleep.

Splitting your awake time is hard, not enough time on either end to do much.

Don't know how those on shift work do it. No wonder they say that you loose up to 5 yrs of life if you work shift work all your career.
Think I'll stick to days after this...

Hey Cin pretty soon it will be mommy can I borrow your truck? HeHe And can I have some money for fuel? They do grow up fast.

Have a good night and I'll see you at 0400. Home made muffins with wild Saskatoons are on the menu for the AM.

Have fun and drive safe

Had the chance to stop by one last time to savor a cup of REAL coffee.

Still scheduled to start the new job on the 3rd. Still looking at a 200 mile a day commute. (found a short cut). Gonna do it for about 30 days, but still have a chance of some local jobs, all with pay cuts, but may take one if it comes available.

On the good side of the new job, they are sending me back to Cop School. My Mississippi credentials wont stand up to KY standards. Always ready for more training.

See ya around when I get the chance.

G'evening everybody,

Kinda double-timing it this evening surfing the DTR on one computer and fine tuning the resume for a job interview tomorrow. Kinda got surprised by this interview as I was just trying to find out a little about the company when the field service manager told me that I really needed to come in to talk to the big boss on Thursday. Just my luck the old guy I was talking to was an ex-submariner and knows what type of work I did. It would mean lots of travel ... North and South America as well as a couple other corners of the earth, but the pay will be just fine . Nothing is in stone but I got a good feeling ... Wish me luck.

Hope y'all have a good un.

yes, it was fun to try though. steak, rum and a campfire standing firm
unless we are in memphis, then it's BBQ

T Rad will PM and snickering now at the thought. round here it is glacier till.
limestone and shale covered by a foot of forest type top soil. deadly for machinery on the mountain hills and ravines here. no such thing as environmental impact avoidance.....

Pistol- your family MIGHT want to have you instead of a paycheck...
Wanderlust , thy name is NAVY......can't sit still can ya??!! God's Best on your decision!

Nice to see ya SHEROD (ED) be safe driving all that way...enjoy training and find out how old we really are!!!

Hard workin' Dually and Jbark Texas sons....save up some rainy day cash and find a good party once a month. yes, a MONTH! I was young once too...

The earth is planning something- my son is working hard and happy! hubby is becoming happier closer to retirement (Aug 9th). all projects found the needed parts. so I am going out to work on the Harley at this late hour (70 degrees) and try to push my good luck! I played good little housekeeper all day. Tomorrow I have to play judge again but for the Assessment of my fellow taxpayers in town. for some reason i agreed to PT right before listening to my neighbors screaming at the unfairness. it is going to be a long night...

Here's to you DTR guys , working hard and keeping it all under control
CHAIKWA buddy! stay safe on the highway, I will call you to talk about bladders, and gushing springs, and the faucet drips (evil laugh)

Good morning.

As promised muffins to go with Hats pot o joe enjoy. Only five so first come first served. Or if you feel generous, thoughtful and kind you can go halvers with someone.

Sherod Wow thats some commute. I take it thats a round trip? Thats still a lot of time spent on the road. Never mind the fuel bill.

Time for another cup, read a few posts and then off to get some ZZZZZ...

Have a good one.
