It is pretty but to paraphrase Bob, winters suck and they are too long up here. Seemed like when I hit 50, I started to have no desire to do winter activities anymore.

I think I hit that point when I was about 40! And my winters don't get as brutal as yours. I'd have probably been done with winter when I was 20 if it started in September and ended in June!

hey Barky man! I am soooo jealous!!! missing alaska big time!!! tempting, first I get the Iditarod volunteer form, some new friends asking me to come visit (hoonah, so i would have to use the marine highway$$$) and your beautiful video (table bump!) kinda weird seeing the oil rigs though, not used to that.

trying to stay put and be retired, oh well. good times, my friends crack me up.
started a snowball fight with their kids, half inch of snow to texas folks is still fun. thanks to my trainer I can now run away from those kids too...

channelled Madhat and Shorts to stay out of snowball range.

Madson, THAT sounds like a blast!! fun to get it running....
you get your bike 100%?

Morning.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30th:

1853 - The United States bought about 45,000 square miles of land from Mexico in a deal known as the Gadsden Purchase.

1903 - About 600 people died when fire broke out at the Iroquois Theater in Chicago, IL.

1922 - The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was formed.

1924 - Edwin Hubble announced the existence of other galactic systems.

1927 - The first subway in the Orient was dedicated in Tokyo, Japan.

1935 - Italian bombers destroyed a Sweedish Red Cross unit in Ethiopia.

1936 - The United Auto Workers union staged its first sit-down strike, at the Fisher Body Plant in Flint, MI.

1940 - California's first freeway was officially opened. It was the Arroyo Seco Parkway connecting Los Angeles and Pasadena.

1953 - The first color TV sets went on sale for about $1,175.

1954 - James Arness made his dramatic TV debut in "The Chase". The "Gunsmoke" series didn’t begin for Arness until the fall of 1955.

1972 - The United States halted its heavy bombing of North Vietnam.

1976 - The Smothers Brothers, Tom and Dick, played their last show at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas and retired as a team from show business. Both continued as solo artists and they reunited several years later.

1980 - "The Wonderful World of Disney" was cancelled by NBC after more than 25 years on the TV. It was the longest-running series in prime-time television history.

1996 - A passenger train was bombed by Bodo separatists in India's eastern state of Assam. At least 26 people were killed and dozens were seriously injured.

1996 - About 250,000 striking workers shut down vital services across Israel in protests against budget cuts proposed by Prime Minister Netanyahu.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
One trouble with the world is that so many people who stand up vigorously for their rights fall down miserably on their duties.

Coffee's on.

HMMMM, looking around the place today to make sure I am in the right room. Yeh, really messy and a big lump in the corner snoring - - YEH, think this is the breakroom. BUT NO COFFEE - - HEY, IT IS 9:15 - - WHERE IS THE COFFEE - - WHERE IS THE PH00? ....................Oh sorry, you are still sleeping - - WHAT - - AT 9:15AM - - STILL SLEEPING. BANG BANG BANG (on the garbage can lid) - - GET UP - - NOW - - HIT THE FLOOR. DO 50.

Oh gosh, I am so tired after just thinking of doing 50. So, I will clean up, coffee is on, ph00 is on, but nothing fattening - - you had enough of that stuff last week. Nuther Friday. Still stuffed after that big din din last night with the blonde. Eat light today. Hey, ph00 is down, I am out of here to go sic'em.

Bob

Mornin... tried to post earlier, but my router decided to cut me off...

Had another moron get arrested last night, resulting in another 0145 phone call... oh, the joys of leadership. Guns, drugs... poser.

Got in the hot tub, coffee, then some eggs and toast for breakfast. Gonna go PT in a bit, clean around the house and do some 'gunny do's'... haha...

Glad your ankle is feeling better, ma. Timmy, hope you feel better buddy.
