Shorts - I did exactly that this afternoon. The little guy was being a total monster due to huge pent up energy so I put on my gumboots, a jacket and my Tilley hat and took him for a walk. I was quite a fashion statement but it accomplish the intended purpose - he has been asleep for the last hour or so. Now he is stalking his food bowl, waiting for dinner.

I'm running rechargeable batteries in my stuff that takes AA's. Want to get some in D size, but after looking around online the energizers I have in AA, have the same mah rating in D as in AA.
Went to ask a question about a charger on amazon and they kicked it back, said I had to buy something first. Well, if I can't ask the question, why would I buy it? Brilliant!

Reading the reviews on chargers, those seem to be the ones to get. There's some rated at something like 10,000 mah but they are really expensive.
I'm looking at the Maximal Power FC999 and the LaCross BC-1000 chargers. The FC999 sounds like a slightly better charger for a little less money. And it doesn't need adapters to charge C and D batteries.
I've got Energizer recharge batteries for AA, the ones rated at the higher mah are a little less expensive than the others.
I did pick up a tool bag at wally's-mart tonight. $5 and it will hold my impact sockets, craftsman battery impact, and 3 batteries. It should come in handy adjusting the trash wheels on the planter. I've been thinking I should get something like it for my power tools.
Wow, spoke too soon, only actual eneloop D's on amazon are $30 apiece!

JCB D cells, 4 for $26.
JCB is new in this country. I've been buying AAA and AA from this dealer for battery packs and wireless microphones. Seem to work well. LSD (Low Self Discharge) is needed unless you are going to charge and run immediately.
It's interesting that they get so much in a AA. I suspect that is because the market is using the smaller batteries. It just isn't worth the cost to develop high capacity batteries in the larger sizes.
Anything new I build uses AA or AAA. If I need more capacity, I just double them up.

G'day yall.
Spent the morning running off a raven getting into the mockingbird nest in the palm tree. About 715am I heard horrifying bird shrieking outside. I figured someone fell in the pool. I look out there and four panicked mocking birds were fluttering around while a big fat raven perched on the nest pecking at the eggs. Ticked me off. Mockingbirds are sacred to me, being Texas' state bird. Ran out there and scared the beast off. It made a few attempts to come back so I brought out the pool pole. Boy I was wishing I could bring out the .22lr and take care of that scavenger for good...but nooooooooo. City limit laws and all that. Sure hope it doesn't come back. These mockingbirds have worked hard on their place and I like having them around. And yes, I'm a bit protective and possessive about "my" stuff. I thought they were a little looney building the nest in the palm tree that sheds but whatever. Their house, their rules

You should read some of the comments on this story about a block-long sink hole in Baltimore. Guess it's really a collapsed retaining wall, but the suspected causes are either hilarious, or scary, not sure which.

Oh hell no!

This new breakroom may not stand the test of time as I am not an admin and I don't have the power of the force to shutdown the old breakroom but I will give it a college try.
Coffee and pH00 are ready for a happy start to the new week. Be safe, happy and healthy all y'all.

But this particular plane has been a flying museum since 1992, and I donīt think thereīs more than this one here in Denmark.
Then again, it wouldnīt surprise me much if they wanted that on this plane, even though it is a flying museum.
Great breakroom you got going here TG, I like Star Wars.

tree tractor back to work, putting on loader and backhoe this PM. have to adjust the injection idle as it cranks for a minute before starting, white smoke. hate to think I missed a seal; and air is getting in...... does have power now, to the Nth degree and that is what started this whole mechanical mayhem.
SHORTS!thanx for sending sunshine. maple syrup here for ya, back gate.
cut drain pipe in half for garden raised bed, seeing how that goes this year.
have twenty trees in the yard to take down, hate walnuts underfoot EVERYWHERE! pears and some apples are innocent victims too...
TG, yup. how do you find him in the snow?! what breed? short hair? spill. doing the hot tub, sauna, shower thing for health now. ahhhh no wine needed. asked hubby if he was gonna jump in the springwater pond for the true Finlandian experience. (he can't handle 105 in the spa, or 70 degree water lol)
star wars was THE MOVIE of the 70s. never before was that concept and movie type seen. every decade has one stand alone movie (fun topic for your next BBQ) I recall Batman, The Rifleman and Star Trek, but worked too much. loved reading better on free time. heh
back to work outside HAVE A GREAT VACA ScottyBro!! bout time.

Good afternoon all y'all,
I wanna know who thought it was a good idea to resurrect Sam the Shrew and the Concrete Bedliner threads? I usually attribute that kind of tom-foolery to Bark, but he is down in Seattle with family so I suspect he is not too blame.
Mom et al, the dog is a Maltese Terrier x Poodle. They do not shed and are hypoallergenic. The allergy part isn't an issue for us but not having dog hair all over the house is nice. For some reason that particular cross makes what vets describe as a 'particularly vigorous cross-breed'. We put our previous dog down a year ago this weekend and he was 17 years old. His sister (actual littermate) died on April 16th of last year.
When Shorts lost Chester we all talked about how much we hate losing pets. Having a cross that lives to almost 20 years means you don't have to go through that pain all that often.
He is still a terrier and drives my wife and I nuts (he turned 1 back on April 11th) but I love him to bits and he is my little buddy.

There is no G. There is no G. Repeat after me, THERE IS NO G!
JWBM, you bet sister. I can't very well enjoy the goodness alone. Syrup is gooooood too, thanks!
TG, no shed is good. I'm still finding Chester hairs. Of course, I don't mind really, other than get a little DHs cousin back in Ft Worth sent me a text one evening not long ago. They would watch Chester for us when we went out of town and vice versa. She said she was cleaning out her fridge and found a Chester hair. Last time he was there was back in Sept. My boy has some longevity
Howdy Trad! Glad you popped in. Those ravens were on a tear all over the neighborhood. On a jog around last week I saw mocking birds chasing them off in many yards. It was kind of sad, and interestingly an allegory for life. The hardest working ones are they ones useless parasites take from.
