Morning!

It is Wednesday, July 10th.

1821 - U.S. troops took possession of Florida. The territory was sold by Spain.

1866 - Edison P. Clark patented his indelible pencil.

1890 - Wyoming became the 44th state to join the United States.
Today in Wyoming History

1900 - ‘His Master’s Voice’, was registered with the U.S. Patent Office. The logo of the Victor Recording Company, and later, RCA Victor, shows the dog, Nipper, looking into the horn of a gramophone machine.

1913 - The highest temperature ever recorded in the U.S. was 134 degrees in Death Valley, CA.

1919 - The Treaty of Versailles was hand delivered to the U.S. Senate by President Wilson.

1925 - The official news agency of the Soviet Union, TASS, was established.

1928 - George Eastman first demonstrated color motion pictures.

1929 - The U.S. government began issuing paper money in the small size.

1940 - The 114-day Battle of Britain began during World War II.

1949 - The first practical rectangular television was presented. The picture tube measured 12 by 16 and sold for $12.

1951 - Armistice talks aimed at ending the Korean conflict began at Kaesong.

1953 - American forces withdraw from Pork Chop Hill in Korea after heavy fighting.

1985 - Coca-Cola resumed selling the old formula of Coke, it was renamed "Coca-Cola Classic." It was also announced that they would continue to sell "New" Coke.

1997 - Scientists in London said DNA from a Neanderthal skeleton supported a theory that all humanity descended from an "African Eve" 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

1998 - The U.S. military delivered the remains of Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Blassie to his family in St. Louis. He had been placed in Arlington Cemetery's Tomb of the Unknown in 1984. His identity had been confirmed with DNA tests.

Today's thought:
If I thought and thought really hard, but couldn't come up with a 'Today's Thought', is that in itself a thought?

Coffee and ph00 for B0b is ready. Everyone take a second this morning to think good thoughts towards his family.

{Baked Fried Chicken}
I am pretty sure that I have discovered the KFC secret recipe! It is DEAD ON! It is also baked...not fried and there isn't any skin! So you get to enjoy the taste of the seasoning, instead of pulling it off because of the slimy skin!

This is super easy and you are TOTALLY going to love it!

Place thawed chicken breast tenderloin strips in a bowl of milk. Let soak for 20-30 min.

Mix in a Gallon Size Ziploc or Large Bowl:
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 T Season All
3/4 tsp Pepper
1 c. Flour
2 tsp. Paprika

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut 1/2 stick of butter into a few pieces and place in a 9x13 pan. Melt butter in pre-heated oven.

Spread melted butter around the bottom of the pan. Lightly spray the pan, if needed, to make sure that there are no dry spots.

Shake excess milk off of chicken and completely coat each piece with the seasoning mix. You can either shake the chicken in the bag, until coated, or dip each piece in the bowl until coated.
Place each piece of chicken in the pan.

Cook for 20 min. Turn each piece of chicken and continue cooking for 20 more minutes, or until cooked through.
ENJOY!

Thanks. For some reason its getting harder to find bone in pork chops around here. For me, they cook up and taste better than boneless.

Wow! Just got done seeing the latest Lac-Megantic, Quebec pictures. I worry about earthquakes but I can't imagine just being in your house minding your own business when a runaway tanker train derailes and blows up.

How did that happen? Looks from here that there was an engine fire on the auxiliary power, put out and the engine shut down. Then the crew hit quitting time, shut down the main engine and walked away. Air bled off and the train ran away downhill.

There should be a few death penalties dispensed if that's the case. How can you leave 10,000 tons of flammable cargo unattended on a hill?

Guess now the engineer who said all 11 hand brakes had been applied on the train has been suspended and there are doubt's about his story.

That's pretty much what happened. What you haven't heard (yet) is that the fire department followed railroad protocol as they were instructed to do when the railroad trained them.

Hey Bark, did you send some of those Alaskan skeeters down this way? It's been rainy, hot and humid here and this is the first year I've seen them in any quantity since I moved here. And they're HUGE! I actually measured one after I got him un-attached from my arm and the sucker was 7/8 of an inch long, not counting his stinger!

Wow that is a big one. Its funny, every year the big ones that start our mosquito season all disappear for awhile (must head south) and are replaced by smaller ones that hurt just as much.
I can hardly wait for those Asian tiger mosquitos that are already in Texas and Florida to show up. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...48705608,d.cGE
They apparently make our normal mosquitos look like pansies.
Also I guess they are far better at spreading illness than our current ones and are even better at surviving a cold winter.
That's just what we need.

Doing good. We got official word and a return date. We see the light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone getting in the way will be run over. Also we got some new options put on our plate that we will be chewing on the next month or two. I'm kind of excited, kind of mad, and kind of not surprised. We'll be figuring it out though.

Headed to SA to see my girls. That will be a hoot. My girls are my best friends/teammates from high school. I am prepared for my ab workout. Which is that we laugh so hard when we get together. Never fails. It makes the world right when I can see my old friends. Well they aren't actually old, because then I'd be old. I should call them long time friends.

I'm going to take Tim's car so I can hot rod on highway

My girlfriend up here moved a couple weeks ago They got PCSed so I need to find a new partner in crime. That's hard to do!

I'd say gravity has about the same hold in both locations.

OK, you asked nicely (for you) so I'll indulge you a bit with your request. Here goes, why haven't you waved lately? I pass right through your dinky *** little town, call or text faithfully and do you ever wave back? Nooooooo........ Just too busy ignoring me, making excuses, whining about a little twinge in your poor little shoulder. Cry me a river why don't ya?! How was that? I was seated comfortably and took a stab at complaining, just like you told me to do. If that wasn't good enough I can try again? When are getting your wing fixed anyway?

The news down here is hinting that the train was tampered with. They haven't used the word sabotage yet but they are stepping all over it.

See if this guy looks like your nemesis. http://www.myfoxorlando.com/story/21...da-this-summer

That's too funny! Shorts get the best laugh of the week award.

Afternoon all. Our travel plans got changed after a late night email last night. We had to move a 500 gallon tank from a site that's shut down over to ours. Between the decision making, the actual work and the rain (imagine that), it took enough of the day that I wasn't comfortable with the number of hours I'd log before we got in the yard so we're leaving tomorrow.

That's neat. Glad things are going good.
I still have a couple of old friends that I see once every couple of years. When we get together its like we never were apart.
However, due to deaths and differences I have no friends from HS or the Army left.
People change and people die.

Absolutely beautiful out today. Gotta go and finish working on the beach rig.
