****BREAKROOM, 7/7 to 7/13****

Morning all. Welcome to this weeks breakroom thread. Keep FiverBob and his family in your thoughts and prayers PLEASE~!

Today is Sunday, the 7th of July. On this day in...

1846 - U.S. annexation of California was proclaimed at Monterey after the surrender of a Mexican garrison.

1862 - The first railroad post office was tested on the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad in Missouri.

1898 - The United States annexed Hawaii.

1920 - A device known as the radio compass was used for the first time on a U.S. Navy airplane near Norfolk, VA.

1930 - Construction began on Boulder Dam, later Hoover Dam, on the Colorado River.

1937 - Japanese forces invaded China.

1950 - The U.N. Security Council authorized military aid for South Korea.

1981 - U.S. President Reagan announced he was nominating Arizona Judge Sandra Day O'Connor to become the first female justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

1983 - Eleven-year-old Samantha Smith of Manchester, Maine, left for a visit to the Soviet Union at the personal invitation of Soviet leader Yuri V. Andropov.

2011 - The world's first artificial organ transplant was achieved. It was an artificial windpipe coated with stem cells.

Today's thought:
You are the only one who can control the way you think. Make sure you nourish the positive thoughts, and weed out the negative ones!

Coffee and ph00 are ready. Enjoy your coffee and your day!

All DTR sniffers must be with Bob, so:

breakfast buffet with pancakes and my maple syrup, the thick stuff in the fridge mmmmmm got some lil sausages with sage n onion, fried red potaters with just a bit of parmesan cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries- the black berries are coming out but not fully ripe say the bears.....

tried to boil myself last night in the hot tub, did a lil toe check and then played acrobat trying not to fall in the water. had to cross water to shut it off, was pegged at 120 degrees. put cover on and s l o w l y slid over it to hit the switch. then just sat there and watched the fireflies....pretty cool when ya know you aren't going to be dinner...kept thinking of a Cajun mudbug all night. fed birds, hiding in the cool house now.

NEFarmguy- survey says the website "BlackN beautiful" gets the most replies for romance......

.....really hiding in the house now

What the heck is wrong with your high temp cut off Sis. That could have been bad! I haven't seen fireflies in 35 years. Neat stuff.

Crookies are the next fad..... Doughnuts with oreos.....like it is not addictive enough.

gluten free food is bad enough, but I have no pain. still can't get over Texans and fried butter. eek.

yes, Bark. we ARE trying to get you in the ..hey wait! why do you have a doghouse if no dog.....(small man cave?) between chaikwa and I , any trouble we can cause is for a good cause....

yeah, only thing I can think of: hot tub on for two days in plus 90 temps, no heater was on. just circulating. a true Holy moment. I forgetted it was on.

gonna wander down the trail (2 acres of blackberries) told cuz in CA I would take some pics. maybe the bears had something to do with the hot temp tub.

Yeah, it's not like I'm predisposed to enjoy them. Remember, I pioneered the doughnut "patch".

Howdy Rick,
Things I need to remember I forget. Things I want to forget drive me nuts.
Heidi,
Bears might be the cause. Wouldn't have been Smokey or Yogi. Ha! It had to be Boo-Boo.
Slow around here.
Making some brine to soak some chicken in. Tonight its going to be very slow cooked chicken (using real charcoal) in a terracotta BBQ .
Time consuming but so worth it.
Nap time.

Good evening all y'all. Today was productiv, or at least as productive as I could be trying to rototill the garden that is swamped. DW saw something on Facebook a couple of weeks ago and this felt like a similar situation. She read 'Mowing a wet lawn is like eating a green hotdog, it seems like a good idea until you try it'. Rototilling a saturated garden with lots of weeds is very similar.
I am starting to get sick of projects I cannot finish. I went to put the new centrifugal cluth on the engine for the nieces quad today. I had to buy a really small wheel puller to get the old one off. So, finally got the old clutch off, went to put the new one on and somehow the key (keyed shaft and pulley) has disappeared. Now I need to buy an assortment of keys
After that I went to put the new pump in the hottub. I do not have the wiring manual for the controller and the old motor and new motors are labelled differently for the wires. I don't really want to guess with a $400 pump and motor that runs on 220V. I know the pump motor wont run well if you let the smoke out. I have tried that before.
At least I got the pool (cold pool not hottub) filled and going for the year.
Now it is time for the first steaks from the 4H steer we picked up at the abbatoir yesterday.

Evening DTR

5ver bob prayers sent to you and the family!

Evening DTR, Hope everyone had a good 4th and weekend. Took a 4 day weekend here, got a lot done around the house.

Refilled the coffee, tea, ph00, and sweet tea. Dragon has been walked but he's still pretty ornery... he's worse than the Janitor after a bath and a haircut.

And there's Rick's 'yoilet'.

Are these all things that are found in a 'parking arcade', or whatever it's called?

Harbor Freight sells a LOT of 'assortments' for $10. Most of them are useless and worth about $3!

Evening all.

I saw a Swift driver that had a skunk in the cab with her. I hear they make good pets if de-scented. Bet it turned a lot of door-knockers away!

Got in about 430 this morning. Not sure how I got home, I was tired! Not drunk, I didn't drink a whole lot. Travis invited the new guy from work out, he moved out here after his brother told him to get his **** outta Connecticut and get out here and get a job. His wife and kids will be here Friday. Pretty cool guy for being from the state of the homeless.

Bart's the one who just lost his house and Kayla is his girlfriend. Once she gets 3-4 drinks in her inhibition goes out the window. I think Travis had her showing off and doing some other stuff to show Bart what (a backwards-spelled) Tulsa she is. But he thinks it's great. May as well have taken her top off the last half hour before we all left. Have to give her some credit though, I was around the corner of the barn taking a leak and heard him say something that led me to believe she was headed my way, so I got my pants closed up as quick as I could, and she came over and begged me to say something like she had grabbed me, and didn't try to. Which kinda surprised me. Then I heard Bart say "OK that's enough".

Walked through the cereal aisle at wally's-mart at the right time today, talked to the hot chick that was there for a couple minutes. Commented on the 1/3-bowl packs of oatmeal with fruit in it and the cost.

I could have gotten so much more done today had I got out of bed before 1130. But probably wouldn't have.

Howdy howdy everybody!! Heidi....I'm with you...fried butter just sounds downright gross. Another good episode of Texas Country Reporter tonight....sure makes me wanna get away and take a break but there's way too much going on right now.....hmm, hopefully next year!!!

Chaikwa.....down here we call them "Hot Water Heaters".....don't know why, but it just don't sound right calling it a plain ol' "water heater." I'm hoping the plumber fellow gets us a decent quote on everything we're NEEDING to get done. I just simply don't have the time........OR THE WANT TO!!! I know that sounds lazy of me but to be truthful......I'm just sick of working on this house.........fix 5 things in order to fix the ONE thing you originally set out to do.....oh, the joys of home ownership huh?

Now I feel my blood pressure rising......I better go take a break!

ok NE, that's it. I am sending you Cincy's blow up peehs. oatmeal...
sorry about your friend; songs and cheap whiskey go to women like that.

Tallguy! something is alien at our latitude. I misplace a specific O ring for my Harley AND my hottub is trying to cook me.

I did get a bonus of the afternoon porch conversation with my tenant, amazing ol guy. four hours that must have been good for the Soul; he has a bad heart and one lung. We joked, smiled, laughed and swapped tales. Sundays can't get any better than that.

well they can cause T rad is here!!!! and MATT!

Reflecting....Thoughts sent for BoB and family.
