FYI Hiedi

If you have greasy parts or parts you want to strip enamel off of. I have a cheap trick. Works great. But a pressure washer will work best

Get one of those plastic cement mixing tubs at Home Cheapo or Lowes. About 5 Pounds of Lye and fill it up. Throw your parts in ther and let them soak over night. Pull them out. (Rubber gloves are strongly suggested) Wash them off with the pressure washer if you have one.

Bare metal. Doesn't work too good on polyurathane. But rips enamel right off.

I have this stuff called Ultra One which does a fantastic job on rusted parts too. Just keep grease out of it. Same drill, soak the rusted partfor 24 hours and take it out. Rinse off, bare metal. Many times it's bright. You have to buy that, but I will greatly help you.

Eastwood makes a great rust converter. Once it's dry, you can paint over it. Spray this stuff on the undercarriage of that jeep, it probably will never rust. If you can do it, shoot that stuff inside the box frame of the Jeep. They rot easily. It will stop it.

G'day y'all. I see some of you have been quite busy. All this talk about getting ready for winter is depressing. I left Canada and moved to Mexico to escape all that stuff and especially to escape the snow and constant shoveling. The biggest thing that scares me about where I am now is that it gets VERY cold here. At least I will not have to do any shoveling. Been told this area gets very cold, but not much snow. Sun is just coming up. Looks like it may be a sunny day, but a bit cool and breezy.

Marc lit the burner under the pot, but noticed that do nothing to soften the mess. What is in here?
Stan, I wish I had some coffee right now, even the bad stuff would be welcome.

Stupid computer at the hotel will only let you on for 20 minutes then you have to start over. I put a few pics on FB in the Colorado album. Sunflowers are a crop here, acres and acres of them. They look like they're about ready to pick. I'd like to watch that just to say I've seen it done.

I'm not giving up my good old V series Cmans. Heeccck no. Maybe I'll buy SnapOn just to horrify the tools snobs

I've got Vlcheks but I'm not wanting to use them as they're the kind with the chrome all gone and what's left is poisonous if it gets ground on. I'm not sure if I should weld or drill/tap them.

Anyway, still thinking about out. Maybe I'll get a sacrificial set of Craftsman. It is my theme and they are my brand. I don't really want to use cheap chinese stuff. It seems wrong to have chinese crap in my good USA garage.

Evenin' All!

Another beautiful day up here. All the way up to 47*..... Not too bad for the middle of October. The jacket is still hanging in the closet.

I'll brew the coffee with a splash of #1 in it just in case the temp drops tonight. That should keep it almost thin enough to pour.

Was tempted to start a new breakroom when I got up this morning. Why not, it is Sunday here and been Sunday for many hours already - almost 14 hours. Wonder how many DTR members would have been confused?

Na, don't do off-road (don't even own a 4x4 currently) and am thinking of a 4BT conversion to keep the gas station at bay. Just have to find a solid platform to start with.

Go ahead and start one. It's past time for the new week to start.

Evening/morning DTR. Heading to bed.
