saw a vw rabbit diesel pickup on the backroads coming home the other day....we were about two feet taller on the harley then he rode off the ground....probably the same gas mileage

If it was of the old (80s) Rabbit Diesels PickUps, they could get mid 50s MPG if the speed was under 60 mph.
But their cargo load rating was only 500 pounds.

 

yup and yup! groceries would be a tough haul for that one! but fun to see and the guy coasted as often as he could...
