You ever take a ride north one town to Rye? Used to be real nice up there and less people. Don't know about now tho.
Troy isn't bad. Just more congested than it was 30 years ago. How long have you been away from here? Or was that before the horseless buggy?

I was never from 'there'. I'm from Mass, not New Joisey. 5 minutes from the New Hampshire border. I left in 2001.

I remember the days when I set the world on fire... I miss those days. I remember one time we set fire at one end, and the truck cut out on us half way back (ford) and the fire started catching up to us. I left dad in the truck, I beat it. He drove through the flames, finally got it started. I wasn't taking any chances... It's a good story.

Evenin.

I'm an idiot... let the wife talk me into getting a rabbit. I wanted to name it Jessica, Bugs, Hugh, or playboy... but those names didn't fly. I think we're gonna name it smokey (it's gray). Too bad I didn't name the dog Bandit.

I'm also gonna see if the bunny will fit in my exhaust tip for a photo op. I promise that no bunnies will be injured in the making of that picture...

Bout to go eat some fried chicken sammiches and some corn salad... mmm...

put back together the harley, tore apart the polaris 500HO. looks like a cracked bolt through a bushing in the rear axle, saw the wheel move when son was using it for shooting target moving duty. not a good sight, but glad we caught it before wood season.

winery dropped off their fall sampling (we get it free for providing them with vintage pears and apples-good deal) oh man, one that they have is very light and tastes like a mixed drink, not wine. if it went on sale tomorrow I'd buy a case. got to wait two months for new york state to approve the labels. yup, one state employee reads every wine lable offered in new york state for proper, non offensive promotion.

played kinect adventure of jumping and moving rapidly to physically move the on screen game. whew!
Shorts, you go girl! I will stay on the porch and cheer....waiting for a new knee.

can't wait to hit the hot tub later...ow.

Wine samples and Kinect? That's a good evening! I appreciate the cheers. One of my knees is on it's last leg (haha pun) so I'm milking it for all I can get until a rebuild.

Well you certainly proved that wrong.

Shorts, if 32 is the new 62 allot of us are in serious trouble!

With advances in medicine and nutrition I think people should be living well into their 120s right?

Smokey huh....

Smoked Rabbit

They smoke up just fine. Wash them if they are fresh kill, soak
in salt water over night and don't forget to clean all the shot
out of them. Rinse again in the morning and pat dry with a paper
towel. I sprinkle garlic salt and black pepper only on old "Bugs"
then drape pieces of uncooked bacon over the top. Rabbit is lean
meat and the bacon helps to keep it moist as well as add's a little
flavor. Hold the bacon in place with toothpicks. Set "Bugs" on
your smoker and start adding the wood. Most rabbits are small and
only take about 4 hrs. to be completely done. You can cut the
pieces up first for a quicker cooking time, but you lose some
moisture doing that.

Evenin' All!

Still raining up here. Leaves are turning too. So much for summer.

Sinuses are all plugged up and making my head feel swollen. Gonna make for a long night.

Sheep don't have toes.

Morning.

Today is Monday, August 22nd.

On this day in 1775 - The American colonies were proclaimed to be in a state of open rebellion by England's King George III.

1846 - The U.S. annexed New Mexico.

1902 - In Hartford, CT, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt became the first president of the United States to ride in an automobile.

1941 - **** troops reached the outskirts of Leningrad during World War II.

1984 - The last Volkswagen Rabbit rolled off the assembly line in New Stanton, PA.

1986 - Kerr-McGee Corp. agreed to pay the estate of the late Karen Silkwood $1.38 million to settle a 10-year-old nuclear contamination lawsuit.

1990 - U.S. President George H.W. Bush signed an order for calling reservists to aid in the build up of troops in the Persian Gulf.

1996 - U.S. President Clinton signed legislation that ended guaranteed cash payments to the poor and demanded work from recipients.

2000 - It was announced that all 118 crewmembers aboard the Kursk submarine were dead. The Russian vessel had sunk on August 4.

Dull history day.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Why isn't "palindrome" spelled the same way backwards?

Last day off before returning to work tomorrow.

To tell you the truth, I have mixed feelings about it.
The two weeks off has been GREAT, the lack of a paycheck...... notsomuch.
