lift for 38's?

Ok i got some 38" x 11"michelin XL's for my 98 and want them to fit with no rub at full stuff. i have a set of 8" wide rims with 4" of back spacing. dont mind trimming a little plastic to make them fit but dont want to hack away at any metal. so what is the min amount of lift i need to make them clear? do you think a 2" spacer will work?

On my 97 with 4.5 lift 38's will fit, but rub pretty hard on stuff. If you do a 4.5 and then some cut-outs you should be good.

first of all those 11x16's require a 6" wide wheel. theres some info out there hiddin in michelins website somewhere. under the wheel range it just says 6" no range. I have a 4.5" skyjacker lift that turned out to be more like 6" lift on my 98 and I never had them rub anything. Mounted on the stock steel wheels too. Theres a picture I think in my gallery.
