Best Traction Radial
Guys
Just curious, what is the best value traction tire that yall run? I personally run All terrains for my uses, yet there are some of you that Run Goodyear MTRS and so forth, What are your experiences with these tires?

I highly recommend the MTR. I have run nothing but on my last 3 trucks. I have had good luck with the 315-16" , 305 - 17"(approx 75,000 kms and still had just under half the tread left when I traded the truck off ), and my 37"- 17" have about 40,000 kms on them and are looking pretty good. They chew hard in the mud and self clean very well. A lot of my friends & co workers in the patch have switched over to them and the only bad feed back I had was that one guy claimed that they were nail magnets.

I really liked my Goodyear AT/S. They worked wonders in the mud but I only got about 20k out of them. The nittos I'm running now do alright in the mud but they absolutely suck in the sand. I've got about 40k on them right now and I've got maybe another 10k in them.

I have always been really happy with BFG ATs. Aired down to 15-18 PSI, they are hard to beat on soft beach sand. 99% of my offroading is on the beaches of Delaware and the Outerbanks. There are alot of beach pics in my gallery. If I was going to switch to a MT tire, I would get BFG MTs. I have read that the new Interco Truxus MTs are very street friendly for an aggressive off road tire. I have stayed away from MTs because I need to get at least 40-50k out of a set of tires.

Note very good in the mud, But they are great in the sand like you said. I currently run wally world budget tires, and they have held up very well surprisingly. I just rotate them and keep them aired up right, they do great in the sand, better than BFG, and are surprising in the wet stuff..
I agree about the MT tires, they are nice to look at, but they dont last very long, IMHO you can make them last but you have to rotate them more often and stay on top of them that much more than regular tires..

I used to run dunlop a/t's(never buy them, they suck), but recently needed some new tires, so went with Buckshot Maxxis Mudders. Good tires, have a m/t tread SLIGHTY like a bfg m/t. They are radial too, and they actually ride better than the dunlops. I give them a big thumbs up $113 each for 265's, which is $5 cheaper than I could find anywhere online(got mine from a local dealer that I stumbled across, lol). I would DEFINITELY buy them again in a heartbeat.

I loved the Truxxus Radials for everything except mileage. I got about 20,000 and they were bald. They were quiet and handled well on the street, Awsume for mud and tore the snow up. Best of all because they were made for rock climbing they were a load range E tire with an extra thick sidewall. For that many miles though they are expensive. I keep saying I'm going back to them but haven't turned lose of the cash yet.

So far I've been using Big O XT for over 15 years and love 'em! Nice deep cuts and they work good in snow and mud. I've never used chains on my truck ever! (Knockin' on wood) Also my last set of Big O's lasted 45K!!! That good for a off road tire. My truck is louder than the tires...

i bought my truck with a set of dueler A/T's and they sucked off-road, especially in anything wet or muddy. ran a set of pro comp A/T's and those were really nice, i drove in a lot of light mud and snow with those, hardly any highway noise and i got pretty decent mileage out of them. The set I'm running now are remington MT's, they're a great mud tire, pretty loud for highway but i don't think i'll be getting more than 15K miles out of them. for my next set i think i'll be looking at the procomp AT's again. I have a set of 305/70/16 procomp Xterrains that i'd like to mount on some more rock crawler steels for wheelin only but i need more clearance to run those.
