No I'm going to just let it go. I just ordered a full Gorends trans to be built next week. I ordered it with everything possible except the billet output shaft.(full race except set up to tow) This is the last time I will ever have transmission problems. I left the output stock so I have a weak link so if anything breaks hopefully it will be the output.

Keith

I went with the Duramax pump because it's new and I got it for real cheap. I figure that with Georges newer pump I should be trouble free.

No delay, but the other symptoms are right on. I will never step foot in his place again. I hate to tell you but from what I'm getting from Diesel Transmission builders the trans is set up for a gasser and when it comes to the diesels he has no idea what he is doing. I would not be dropping the coin I am in the next week if I thought he could fix the mess I have now. Think how much you spent plus a little more.
My problem showed up this last time it went in about two weeks ago. I think he was trying to save the trans when he knew that I was going to make the jump to over 600. If you decide to sue let me know. After I figure out actually whats in this thing I might be able to get him for theft by deception.

Good luck in trying to get anything fixed. Your probably going to have to follow in my foot steps unfortunately. Just remember if you hit him the lawyer is going to cost about 1/2 or better of what it would cost to just have it done right. Thats what I tell myself anyway.

I took the one I had that they put together and I was disgusted. All he did was a stock rebuild and a crappy one at that.

Front clutch had a 6 element clutch, it should have been at minimum 8 elements 10 would have been better.

Unit endplay was excessive, it was over .100" which allowed the front clutch oil port to run too close to the sealing rings and loose pressure resulting in front clutch failure and no reverse, also happened around 1000 miles initially.

Front pump was junk, they never found that.

Selective spacer that goes on the in intermediate shaft was completely worn out and should have been replaced.

Valve body setup was useless, stock with line pressure turned up.

I took the mess up to him in the back of the truck and asked him why on earth this trans was put together that way. Gave me some BS which I called and he changed his tune. I squeezed him for parts to rebuild it including a billet input on his dime.

You guys (Gary and Angelo) should be able to get something back if the parts that come out of your trannies are not billet or even meant for a 400hp+ truck. If you paid for it, than you should get it, no questions asked. I would videotape the teardown and than take it to a lawyer or maybe the Better Business Bureau. You guys can't be the only ones he screwed in the area. If you can't get any money back, than you can hit him where it really hurts: future customers.

Keith how do you like your valve body with lock up switch? I'm getting the same type valve body so I can lock the converter switch at the line and it will lock when it hits second and stays locked. I'm going one step tighter on the converter than you, how does yours feel?

I'm now only going to have billet drums and input because Dave is no longer running billet intermediate shafts because he has said he has better luck with the new stock ones not breaking. I also wanted to keep the output stock so it's still the weak link. Everything else is upgraded.
I will get all old parts back along with a list of what they are along with digital pictures.

I will drop the truck off on Sunday and hopefully pick back up on Thursday.

Time will tell

Angelo
