You could always just move up to a 3rd gen! But then you would have to give up that awesome 2nd gen sound!!

Definately been practicing for the drag strip....Huh?

RJ

I didn't get to ride with him at the last meet, but I have rode once in BrIan's truck with him shifting hard and fast. Very impressive! Maybe one day he can take on "Banshee" in a drag race!!

That's the good thing about a manual Truck doesn't have to have a lot of power, but you can jerk the passangers around hard enough with hard shifts to make them think it does!!

I'll shift hard every now and then, but I never jamb gears... l aways allow some engine/ tranny speed sync to help things out a bit... Heck in the mornings when its cool I double clutch to help things out even more!!

heck as much as I have dumped into the truck in the past month I may start pushing the dang thing the first few miles to make sure things are lubed!! lol maybe not

I'm nice to it when I need to be and it lets me play hard when I want I want!!
ps double clutching in the morning is not always by choice..... don't shift good cold...

Well to further prove my point on never buying another one my cruise control speed switch (don't know if it's the left or right side but there is a difference) just went out on me today. It worked last night and I get in it today and it won't even turn the light on. 2nd time cruise has gone out on me in this truck. So the u-joints get put off yet again so I can deal with this problem now.

Ain't got time to mess with anything yet dan. It happened on my way to class. I don't even know where to begin. I didn't remove any factory grounds from under the dash nor did I install any new grounds on top of factory grounds. Not to mention I moved all of the grounds from inside the truck to outside. When you turn the key to on you can see the little "cruise" light come on on the dash but once you start the truck you can't get it to come on. Glad I bought a 30 pack last night. I'm gonna need it.

I guess without cruise your truck is going to turn into a pure fun driver than daily driver. I know I couldn't go on a long trip without it anymore.

Make sure you don't have any codes relating to the speed sensors. I noticed on mine when I had some trouble with the speed sensor codes that the cruise would not come on when the code was in and active. Once the code cleared, cruise worked normally.

Just a simple check before you start wiring and drinking (or is it drinking and wiring?).

Nah. Pulled code 1596. Speed Switch To High for to long or something like that. Narrowed it down to the switches on the steering wheel that actually control the cruise. One's $75 and one's $35 and the dealer won't tell me how to narrow it down to which one so I'm gonna buy both. I can either pay $110 for parts and do it myself or I can spend $90 for the dealer to plug in his scan tool and tell me which part and then I can buy the part as well.

I guess Big Blue got tired of your bad-mouthing and decide to really give you some little misery's. You do know that these things really do have feelings.

BB, my steering wheel controls started acting up. I pulled the airbag and took the switches apart and lightly sanded, bent and cleaned the contacts and all is good. Can you remove the switches and take them apart for cleaning?
