I thought about the fact that there is no CADTR Chapter. I would step up, but I am in BFE and that would be rather prohibative to attending many events, nor would anyone want to come here... We need someone!

That isnt that far out there! Im from Apple Valley.
Born and raised there for 26 years.
Ive been to "The Gateway to Death Valley" many, many times!

There are quite a few diesel heads in/around the Apple Valley/Victorville/Hesperia/Barstow area.

You may even be centrally located to get members from the Victor Valley, Phelan, Lone Pine, Barstow, Helendale and perhaps even the Canyon country along the 14.

If your interested in giving starting your own chapter, email Lary to get the paper work going and then place adds in/around places like the T/A truck stop at I-15 and 395, fueling stations in/around your area as well as the Victor Valley area.
Also you may check with the areas diesel and performance shops to see if they will allow you to post fliers there as well.

Good luck.
Your former nieghbor,
Rich

Daze,
It's a small world, isn't it? What can you tell me about starting a DTR Chapter? I have a fair amount of computer time available thanks to my employment, and DSL at home. Although I'm fairly busy Monday through Thursday, I don't work a lick Friday through Sunday.

Thanks!

Email Lary (National Chapter President)

lellis@dieseltruckresource.com

and he'll get you the Local Chapter registration papers, or take a read through the "how to's" of starting a local chapter and down load the applications:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/chapter.php

To run a chapter isnt so much PC based as it is getting diesel heads together and having BBQ's, wrench sessions, fun, laughs, etc.
Also, you may want to work with local vendors and such to see if they will donate a morning of their time for an open house for your chapter.
As long as you stay within the guide lines of the National Chapter by-laws, the limit of what you and your chapter do is up to you.
Considering the distance your chapter may cover (San Berdo/San Gabriel mtn range to the South, Canyon country to the West, ??? to the East, and Lone Pine/Biship to the North) you may want to look into placing a few lines of advertisment into a few newpapers... perhaps just a few lines in bold print in a few newspapers' classifieds section? (Just an idea).

Take it into consideration. Id love to pay your chapter a visit when I pass through. I still get down there several times a year to see family and friends.
