I would like to watch DD work on RowJ's maybe even pull my cover and change the fluid and see what's going on in there... Maybe I'll change/restack my clutches after I see how it is done...

Fade94 - Friction Modifier included... I edited my previous post.

BNold - What fluid does 5600 take...gear lube? My manual does not say? I have heard raves about Royal Purple from some very knowledgeable members.... would probably stay with it.

For transfer cases, I use and recommend Amsoil ATF. Our ATF Meets Mercon6/Dexron3 and is full synthetic, but does not meets specs for ATF+4! Amsoils ATF (non racing) is an excellent product... I run it in my DDT and T-case.

RJ, is an addtive needed with the gear lube you offer?
I bet we could fit you in.....My day is rather tight time wise...but it should not take to much to pull the axles and centers out of your trucks......You still got stock wheels?

Note on this....i used Amsoils oil for HPD's (Place i used to work at in gainesville) Shop truck. It has a NV-4500. After we used it, it never shifted corrctly. I will ALWAYS use Castrols "Whatever they call it" (Which is a very good Synt by the way) when i change the oil in my NV.

Honestly I don't think my tranny has ever shifted right since I've owned it!! Doesn't like going into 1st or 2nd or well Rev from a stop.... When cold shifts like poo... Keeping it overfilled seems to help some, but I don't think this tranny will ever shift like a car tranny... Oh wait maybe because it's not!!

That Royal stuff was $$ so hopefully I wont have to worry bout changing for another 70k or so!!

It's an ATF/Motor Oil type tranny. We make a synthetic product, approved by Arvin Meritor for their Big Rig 1,000,000 mile extended warranty program.... but only comes in 5g Pail.
That NV5600 probably only holds a gallon +/- so RP is probably more convienent??

FYI, Big Rig trannys & axles hold 4-5 gal. each!..... same as a DTT "Big Rig" auto in a CTD

Not the Royal Purple stuff Brian mentioned.....
http://www.royalpurple.com/prodsa/scmax.html

Almost all manual trannys have gone this direction with tighter tolerances..... started by GM in early 1990's. Most of my independent 18 wheeler customers have switched over from Gearlube to 50 wt motor oil???? Never did understand why it works so well, but it does.
