North Texas DTR#8 May GTG
Ardmore was tons of fun - everybody that missed should see for themselves next time... good folks and good times up there!Big thanks to Rowland and Evan for helping out with pit-crew duties.
We made a bunch of runs Friday night getting the driver and truck dialed-in to the track; at 9200#, the '05 is an honest 15 second Service Truck.
Looking foward to running some numbers in street trim with everything turned up/on!Saturday we thrashed between rounds to adjust the traction bars, correct some minor issues between the new TIP gauge/pyro fitting and SS cowl-induction hat, and stripped what we could out of the bed... got down to ~ 8600# for 90+ MPH in the bottom half of the 15's.
Unfortunately, the only "mechanical" we had was the failure of Smarty to load... guess I shouldn't have left it unopened in the office for so long!
Congrats on your numbers!! To Mike and RJ.
Good job putting that beast on a diet Mike!! Any idea what's up with your Smarty????
Maybe we can make Ardmore another not to distant future N.TEX DTR meet and try to have better attendance from the rest of us.
Glad yall had a good time.
ps...Rowland.....I will let you know when/if im going to sell the 285 BFGs. Money is tight right now to apply toward my own set of 35s. Mine are actually wearing like iron.....almost 40k on them and looking good.

Sounds like a great time had by all, sorry I missed it. My son's team one, again, so now it's off to the semi-finals later this week.
We did get to Redline on Sat. evening. He met me there after his last game and we ran my little Chevy pickup. NO TRACTION...but a blast for my son to drive. This was his first time on the strip. Other than a blown header gasket and rubber chunks on the side of the bed, all is good. Truck ran great but I need a spool and ratchet shifter for it. So my "driver" says...
AREN'T KIDS GREAT !?!?!?!

Also, your meter bracket is in my truck.
X 2 Brian! At first I thought it was sleeping in the South Padre Island tent on Friday night, but none of the "symptoms" showed up until Sunday...
Both Evan & I have also been similiarly afflicted; but I've never been disturbed by any parasites at Charlie's before... of course, I've never slept in his trailer before either - and Saturday night we all bunked together in there (remember how much the camper was rocking?
)Anyway, I'm thinking the Camper has an infestation of Bag Bugs... after all, Tyler usually sleeps in there and he's always complaining about his parts!
