Better than me brian. My last two tanks with smarty on 3 and tst on 1 have netted me 14.1mpg and that's driving it easy. Interesting enough, that's an increase over smarty 3 tst off. I know mine is a combination of my injectors and pump but yours I dunno. I've been running this ULSD for a long time now and it definately sucks. I don't understand how this stuff is supposed to be healthy for the environment when we burn more of it.

You bet!

We're long on crew chiefs & drivers, short on pit-monkeys & groupies...

Sure can! You can take my place to be sure everyone stays in line.......that is if you leave the Crown at home. Nah, that wouldn't be any fun.

With Mike, RJ and BrIan running, you might want to take your trailer too.

Rob's not allowed to come w/o Crown!

I'm towing the GN up there, so we'll already have one trailer, 6 differentials & 8 thumbs... plus we have some pretty good flat-tow paraphernalia.

Mike, Removed 'Bars' yesterday...in preparation for Ardmore test. My mark for neutral moved. Can only be permanent relocation of rear axle a bit rearward. Make sense?
Maybe by next weekend, neutral will be back where it was. Sure rides differently... don't care for it a bit.

Also, FYI - all front bracket screws were semi loose? Not jigling loose but could get another 1/2 turn on them.... just snugging them up....not torquing hard. Probably normal with new threads? Might add locktite blue, you think?... or bolts w/ lock washers?

What were you saying about wanting hard proof your VP-44 was dying??

I've given up on Smarty on #3.... I'm back to #5...TST #1 for daily driving and getting 17.2 mpg on ULSD with diesel fuel treatment.

Rowland,

The SS mounting hardware for the brackets already have lockwashers between the bolt heads and "beauty" washers. Retorquing after the first tankful is standard, as the paint clearance gets "squeezed out" of the stack.

Maybe Brian should check his - we torqued those about 2:30 AM

Is your "neutral mark" a bar rotational position?
If so, even a 50# weight difference will change "neutral".

I can tell my diet is working, because I'm getting an extra knock on the potholes when the fuel tank is low...

True but I want more proof than just bad mileage.

I love driving smarty #5 but it surges something fierce with the cruise control. It bounces between 2 and 12psi of boost on flat ground. And that's with the straw stuck in the vaccum line. So I have to run level 3 if I want to cruise.

Did I mention I hate birds? I had one go to the bathroom on my arm yesterday while I was talking to dad and I had another just go again on my hand. So I went and ripped their nest down and threw the youngins in the field. Hope they can fly.
