North Texas DTR#8 May GTG
We had the wind pushing rain and water up the street. Definitely looked like hurricane footage out the front window. The Weather Channel wasn't talking about much till it got close, then I decided I better try to squeeze the truck into the garage with the g/fs car. I had a bad feeling the tree next door was going to come crashing down. No damage here, although there are trees down in most of the surrounding areas. Power was out for about 3 hours.
That would work too, how hard would it be to find one of those? Any idea what all that would cost? It would have to cover something like 6"X6", could be more than that, and have to sit up about a quarter to half an inch above the deck (this is all guessurments off the top of my head)(It's raining a little to hard to go check the measurements right now.)
The parking garage at the hospital made for a good shelter for Ole' Red.
A lot of tree damage is this area, but luckily I only lost a few small limbs. Don't know about The Ranch.

I'd vote for the flush door that has a latch you push in to make it pop out and release.
Or more simply, go for a spring loaded hinge that keeps it closed and a slight indentation in the back edge so you can pull it open. Better looking than the hole in the door to put your finger through.

I wish it was mine mike but it ain't. It's my buddy's 5spd. We got it all put back together and running. That 3600 sprung hub dual disk is really smooth. At least as smooth as an OFE. Very quiet as well. No rattling at all. You can hear a slight howl or something similar with the clutch engaged while idling in neutral. Anyways, got the truck running and put about 130 miles on it. Came back to the house, loaded the smarty, started the truck, and it started making a funny noise out of the stacks and it was ticking real bad from the exhaust side. Pull the valve cover off and #2 exhaust rocker was about to fall off. WAY out of lash. And of course we don't have any of our lashing tools. So it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully something else bad didn't happen.
UH OH....that isn't good.......You can always do it old school (Until you get some feeler gauges) and get the cam lobe all the way down and tighten up the rocker arm lash until your push rod has a very slight amt of drag on it when spinning with your fingers. That will get you running again at least. BUT im with Mike...i would roll the rod on something flat to see if its bent first.......
Dont think i can make the races......Cash is tight and fuel is high...and my wife drives "Mini-Me"....if i had that Jetta up here.....I would do it.....about $60 round trip in fuel! (I dont think my truck could do that one way!) haha.....
Rowland got to see it last night......she met him on her way up here to pick me up some oil........
