Thankfully I got it mowed last week and it's not out of hand again.........yet.

And....ROBERT, Lake Lavon is FULL!

I drove back today (Monday) from Missouri...(minus the tractor and gooseneck)....and right before coming into Oklahoma on I-44 we got dumped on bad. Rain was coming down in sheets for about 50 miles or so. We have had alot of rain all over here lately...Texas, Oklahoma and beyond...and I love it.

Charlie...You are right....Lake Lavon is full. But believe it or not, to my knowledge we are still under stage 3 drought restrictions in McKinney until Jim Chapman (Cooper Lake) fills back up too!!! Hopefully they are going to go down to Stage 1 or 2....so I can at least wash my own truck in my own driveway instead of pumping quarters in at the local car wash! Totally ridiculous~~~!!!!! This rain in the last several days had to help raise Jim Chapman up too though.

I can't have money laying around cause I'll spend it on something that I don't need like new gauges or upgrading my turbo or getting new ladder bars (yes mike I'll be buying some from you before the summer is over, I like them to much not to). So what I'm thinking about doing is sending James the money and having him order the parts that he can with the money I send him (should be around $2000) and then as summer progresses get more and more parts and come august I'll be able to have the tranny completely built and finished off if not sooner. As of now I know for a fact I can easily have the tranny done at the end of august but dang it I want stuff now. What should I do?

I vote to go ahead and send James a check if you can't set it aside and not spend it. But, you see how my savings has been going for my own tranny! Im buying a 2004 Weekend Warrior!

Speaking of spending money....My Putnam XDR Class V hitch came in. That will be my "wrenching" project for this next GTG I suppose.

This hitch sure makes the stocker look wimpy! It's "only" rated for 1600lbs tongue weight/16000lbs pulling weight.....but if the stocker is 12k...this one should be 36k IMO.

I can't believe nobody said anything about my tractor towing post, good or bad. I, at least, expected some smartellick comment from somebody about it. Where's the love?

Maybe it wasn't that big of a deal to most of you guys. But I have never towed 15,000lbs+ before plus the weight of the trailer. That is a beautiful sound to hear that Cummins work!

Oh, good job towing the tractor. Good to see the Smarty on 9 didn't totally eat your tranny up yet.

Tyler, send me your money....I'll hold it for you.

Robert, you had might as well send me yours too.

Anyone planning on working under their trucks needs to bring cardboard or something to put on the ground. Something waterproof would be best.

We'll see what wrenching we'll have to do on my truck. I hate working on wet ground. I've got my vacuum pump seal kit, VP44, and need to tighten my track bar up.

Charlie, On the driveway should be ok...right?

Mike - Update on Smarty? Have to send it in to Bob Wagner?

I'm outta class at noon on friday so I'll probably be there around 4 or 5. Hopefully I got a cool teacher that doesn't wanna keep us there for 2 hours but I doubt it. Accounting teachers aren't known for their personality.

Probably, but it will probably still be pretty damp. The ground is saturated. Also, I hope it's dry enough to load my camper while you guys are here to guide me under it.

The dew will probably be heavy, so you will need some type of cover to sleep under.

Hey Robert - I posted a condescending remark about your recent futile attempt to vault your waning Heavy Hauler status back up to to respectable territory!

Rowland was kind enough to donate his old bed mat to Team XLR8R , so I'll have that on the GN for ground cover while wrenching.

I took the Smarty out of the box and it made us miss 2 rounds between the Electronics and Super Comp classes - refused to load 3X!
Bob asked me to download a different SW from the site, but I haven't had time yet - way too busy with workload. He suspects there may be a glitch in the SW...

Charlie, Evan will be in DC - but I'll eat his share (Brian's too, since he's in CA )

Actually, I'm trying to scheme how to be in 2 places at once; I have a wine-tasting/art show this weekend I have to attend as well...
