Cris, thanks for the offer on the smarty. I really want to try one out bad.

I think I am going to bring the car. Hope the track is ok. I am going to plead with them to let me make a 1/4 run. I think I know what the car should run based of my 1/8 times, but I just need that 1/4 slip. lol

see you guys out there I hope.

Drinking coffee now and getting dressed,,,,,,, I'll be out the door and on my way shortly. I should be down there a little before noon providing I don't end up taking the scenic route,,,,,,, not that I would ever make a wrong turn or anything,,,,,,,,,

Hello
It was a great day at the track, T shirt warm for awhile.

John_P got his wish and is no longer allowed to run 1/4 until he has a roll cage. I'll let him post the times, I promise they are pretty good for a truck that spun for a while at the starting line

Top at the DTR shop was able to get a SMARTY delivered in time to put a smile on Mrs Smurf's face.

Mrs Smurf here -
WOW what a difference a little plug and go does. Pretty neat to belong to the 100 mph club! Will have to call Mom & Dad tonight to tell them the news.

Sure was great to see everyone that came out to Coastal Plains Raceway Park. Thanks to everyone who brought food to feed the hardy appetites, and make it another great event. Appreciate Brett & Cris for cooking up some great burgers and dogs! John_P, Sharon and Johnner for wonderful meal at Logans Roadhouse. Jess, we'll get a chance in the futher to see everyone again. Quality time with the family is what everything is all about. Chris and I have the same passion with Diesel trucks, he gets to work on them, while I get to play with them on the track.... What a great Guy!

Florida isn't that far down the road from North Carolina. I will have to plan my year out to go to all the events. Now that I will be back in the states a bit longer, I may get to do long term planning again. We still have Spring NC Diesel Truck round up, Claremont get together, Diesel Drags at the Rock, Commerce GA Mopar Natl, and the in between runs we call out in posts. Once we get settled, we'll have to get everyone down for a summer get together and start another yearly event in sunny Florida! Just remember Daytona isn't that far away from where we are looking for land..... That goes for Nascar and Harleys as well.

Sure was a great homecoming, Thanks everyone for coming over and saying Hello.

Chris here.
Sorry if this is a long post, I promise you will get over it.
I was glad to see Tim and Ted Barber, Brian and Sandy, Dennis Tway and I met 35"05. Of course our local group John_P, Banshee, masonic-dodge, Brett and Mike D. Most important some young Marines that I work with came out and run there trucks. Thank all of you for what you give up when you get on a ship or plane and go forth to carry on the Marine Corps tradition of defending our freedom. I did it for 21 years, Leigh Ann has been doing it for 23 years.

All I have to say is Thank YOU.

See Ya
Chris

A Note Of THANKS From Up North....

To the Dubies....
What more can be added that hasn't already been said here.I am glad the sun shined brightly today to make the homecoming one to remember for all those who attended.Florida is a small drive to one who drives for a living such as I do and I have tons of experience riding up and down I-95 over the years and would welcome a trip to visit old friends.I am certain that I speak for ALL of my Mason-Dixon members when I say you will be missed but not forgotten. If there is anything I can do to help out,all you need to do is drop me a note.

To Mr.Smurf..
I have said it before and I'll echo it here again,THANK YOU for a job well done and doing a job that allows the rest of us the freedoms we all enjoy each day of our lives.Simple words can not ever express enough how gracious I am for the job our servicemen and women do for us each day.

Its obvious to me I need to spend more time over here so I don't miss important shows like this. While your down in FLA Chris you need to look up our old pal Owen(DBF) as when he retired he moved south into the warmer climates.Watch him though,he is a bad influence,LOL......Andy

BTW...
Was that or is that a 1BIG44 Sighting?...Nice to see your still around Wes.

I don't think I could handle it if my wife drove a one ton that was faster than my truck. Papa smurf must be secure in his man hood .

I remember first meeting Chris and Geoffrey in TN a few years back, the smurf mobile was brand spanking new and he was one happy camper. I remember one remark and I quote "this truck has plenty of power I don't think I'll go messing with it"

Once you get down south I'll come looking for you guys. I'll just find the fifth wheel with all the running lights lit up in the campground.

Wes

Thanks Andy
We always had a great time every time we attended the events. I remember one of the first Fall Brawls we attended, it was somewhere in the middle of the woods, we all rolled up in someone back yard and started putting trucks on the dyno. That was when Doug (Jet Pilot) had his black sleeper truck and he put it on the rollor and laid down unheard of high numbers.
That had to be about 6/8 years ago already.

It's great hearing from Wes again. Yes I remember saying that my truck had plenty of power of course now I have about doubled what it had stock. Course that was when Geoffrey was still a young boy, he is 19 now and went to Marine Corps Boot Camp and is a reservist down in Wilmington N C. Your little girl was just a baby then too. Wow where did all the years go?

We have allot of fun, and it don't bother me that her truck with training wheels goes faster than mine.
I am probably going to catch and bunch of you know what over my next comment.
I have figured out years ago, that if "momma ain't happy NO BODY IS HAPPY"

We are looking forward to having visitors, once we get down to Fl and get things set up. We have been talking about making a pad and have a sewer thingy and power for when we have visitors drop in.
That is still a ways off yet, we are still looking for land down there, next month we are heading south to walk the dirt on some we have found on the internet.

See ya
Chris

Chris and Leigh Anne, I hate I missed the event and your last hoorah in NC. You guys take care and hope to see you at future events although you won't be locals any longer. I enjoyed getting to meet both of you at several of the events. Travel safe and take care, Matt
