NC GTG for the Smurf's/Aftermath/Results

Well, for those of you that did not make this event to honor two of our great N.C. DTR Members, namely, Chris and Leigh Dubie, all I can say is you missed a GREAT TIME! The N.C./Va DTR chapters were well represented and there were some personal "Bests" in the 1/4 mile today.

I have to start out with my run in the 96' Red Ram! I made it into the 11's today, running 11.76 @ 115.96 MPH!! As many of you know, my previous best was 12.1 @ 110 MPH E.T. and 12.3 @ 113 MPH. What caused the quicker E.T./MPH? Well I "launched" alot harder leaving the line at 20lbs. of boost versus about 10-14 on my prior runs. The weather today was PERFECT,
with a temperature of around 60 degrees, humidity around 20% and Barometric Pressure at 30.18 when I ran. Nice cool, dry air! Not only did I do better, but so did DTR Members; Mike D., bbuchanan, RATTLIN RAM and our honored member, Leigh Dubie! Mike D. hit 13.0, Brian ran a 12.7 and Leigh ran a 13.5! If I forgot anyone, I apologize to you.
These were all the lowest times these members have run too. My congratulations to ALL of them too!

I want to thank all the Va. DTR Crew for coming down; RATTLIN RAM, Timinva, Tim's Dad along with all our local NC Crew who came out. My thanks to Cris Sonnichsen (masonic-dodge) for getting this event going, to "nstgatr"
(Brett) for cooking all the hamburgers and hot dogs and to all who helped him!
The food was delicious!

Finally,.....I want to again thank our honored guests and longtime DTR Members for whom this event was planned; Chris and Leigh Dubie! Thanks for all your years of friendship and for all you have done to help me over the last four years with our annual "N.C. Dyno and Drag Race!" I will miss you both very much and wish you good luck in your new assignment/base there in Jacksonville, Florida! Maybe once you guys get down to Florida, you can "light a fire" there and we can all attend events with you there!

Take care Chris and Leigh! Hope you enjoyed the day.

John, congrats again. The truck looked awesome on that one run. Oh that was your only run. LOL. Running to Fast is not a bad thing to get kicked of the track for.

I think that was one of our best turn outs I had a great time even tho I didn't run my truck I just need to spend some time tuning it in. Great to meet Chet 35 05 out there. I know he will be spending alot more time with us in the future. As for the Dubie's I will see both of you before you leave.

Ron and Pete:

Thanks to both of you. Ron, your right,......I forgot to add that I was "barred"
from further runs on the 1/4 mile track because I was below the "cutoff" of 11.99.

Pete,.....you REALLY stomped that guy in the Ford PSD!! Great job!

I knew you were gonna get kicked off that track!!! Congratulations on a heck of a run. Can't wait to see the video. If you need me to work a video over and host it. Just have someone get up withme and I'll get it in production and hosted like the other videos.

I know your having a very happy holidays with a 780+ Dyno run and 11sec 1/4mile within 2weeks of each other. Wow!!

Sorry I got so excited buddy! But, I have been working hard on this for several years now and it FINALLY happened thanks to my great friends at Scheid Diesel and at ATS! I will try to "control" myself better next time!

You don't need to control yourself, You sure have a right to jump for joy

I see 11.50s on #2 with some tires and if you ever go and put nitrous on it I see you very deep into the 11s or lower

If you could make me a copy of my run that would be great. I will pay you for the DVD or tape.

Thanks!

35",

What kind of video recorder did you use? Is it something I might could borrow, copy, and return? I could then maybe get some pics from everyone who was there and make a G2G video like I did for the DHRA event.

Anybody else have footage I could borrow and copy?

Chris Dubie said he will send you the video by e-mail. He also said to P.M.
him if you have any questions or suggestions.
