Gates open at 8:00, Test and Tune runs starts at 9:00. I plan to be there around 9:00, but others are coming a long way and may not get there until later.<br>Keep in mind the Brackets start at Noon. I am doing some further scouting due to the threat of rain on Saturday. The forecast, as it stands now, is supposed to be rain moving into Central Virginia Saturday morning, but the rain is supposed to be scattered. This may mean we can race in the morning and the afternoon will be rained out. You know how the weather goes.<br><br>I am going to check out places we can go to eat/meet if we cannot race or after racing in the morning. The latest and greatest on the weather is: Afternoon thunderstorms. I am feeling good that it's not going to be a long steady rain like the East coast has been receiving lately.
Even so, I scoped out some resturants in the area, just in case this turns into a &quot;meet &amp; eat&quot;. There are pizza joints and a Golden Coral (buffet), in addition to the standard burger joints, ranging from 1.5 miles to 12 miles from the track (Golden Coral).
One of the pizza/Italian places looked very nice and I grabbed a menu we can look at if anyone wants to, before we decide where to go.

Still do not know about the track's food. I was thinking about running tonight, as I scoped out the rest of the track, but I had my Glock in the truck and want to respect their rules.

Additional notes:
If you want to have a shorter ride down Route 1, you can use Exit 61 off of I-85 instead of exit 63A. If you use 61, take a Left (East) and go 1/4 mile to Rt 1. You'll take a Right (South) and the track is 1.5 miles on the right.

If you take exit 63A off of I-85, there are no turns and the track will be 3.9 miles down Rt 1 on the right.

In case we need it (I sure hope not), I found a NAPA auto parts store also. (about 5 miles form the track)

If you have a tractor and need parts for it or the implements, there is a BIG tractor place down there I discovered this afternoon. Mostly Ford tractors, but they have mostly implements of all sizes and types. I was drooling as I walked around their lot. ;D They are open until 12, Noon on Saturday.

If anyone has questions or needs a weather report, for those of you who cannot make it until afternoon, you can call me all day Saturday for info. 804-306-1629. The only reason I might not answer is if I'm riding down a certain quarter mile.

So the weather didn't cooperate for the drag racing,,, :'( I still had a good time BSing with Stamey, John P., Johnner, and Chris &amp; Leigh (the Smurfs) at lunch. Lets hope that the weather will be a little more kinder for the get-togethers in the future. ;D
