Hahaha .... sounds like we are percolatin' and fermentin' some kind of a plan.

If we are gonna plan on doin it at my place .. I will need to push it to the middle of April. I have to spend a few days at the beginning of the month getting formally checked out of the Navy ... after that we should be good to go.

We'll be good for the 4 B's ... Beer, bonfire, BBQ and Black smoke !!

For those who would be traveling ... this would be an hour drive (+/-) east of Springfield on Hwy 60 to Mtn. Grove and then 9 miles south of town out in the sticks. We are at the end of a 1 mile dirt road and the last 1/4 mile is a little rough.
I don't believe we had anyone with a lowered truck so that wouldn't be a concern. People drive cars out there all the time with no problem except in the winter.

We have extra room for those who want to either bring an rv or stay in mine or you are welcome to stay in the house ... whatever works, the offer is there. Heck ... plan on making it a two day thing !!

I would say that if y'all want to make this happen ... post a "yea or nay" so that we can get started planning some entertainment and notifying the entire chapter. (Sure would be nice if we could get ahold of Jim ). Heck, we might even talk Shortround into draggin his sorry carcass up for a while ... if you haven't met him yet, you are in for a treat ... he's a Top Shelf kinda guy !!

i'll go since i'm the main one that's been complainin that noone wants to do anything ever. and it won't hurt my feelins to smoke out a few neighbors either. i don't think whitesport will show though. he's scared to bring his truck around mine cause he's knows he'll have to make up a bunch of excuses so he don't have to race me. hehehehehehehehe. i bet he won't even reply to this.

fatboy, that's funny. at least i'm not makin up a bunch of excuses why i won't race someone with half my power and got me in weight by about 700lbs. you'd better put it on me big or i'm not gonna let you live it down sunshine, cause if you're not at least 6 cars ahead of me, then you wasted alot of money. i'm only hopin to have a good clutch by then, even if i don't i won't make up bs excuses like people i know. oh yeah, thanks for stirrin the fire mike.

But the Packmule is right, we ought to try and get together before April...thats 4 months yet....even if its a lunch and BS session at a truck stop somewhere....Nevada Mo truck stop on 71 has a decent Chicken Fried Steak and pie.. at least last time I was thruogh there they did....

BTW any sign of Jim yet?????? Does anyone have Jims phone number? I had his cell# at our last GTG, but cant find it now. If no-one does, I'll Pm Top or DeiselDaze and see if they have it in the Chapter paperwork...

 

I've got a 15hh bay blm mustang coming in as soon as I'm done with this haflinger.

The owner tried to saddle it up and it reared over on him and banged him up a little. I wish he would have left it alone. Now on top of hours of desensitization and groundwork I get to spend time convincing him that I'm not going to eat him. Gonna have to rethink the training fee on the Mustang.

 

Nahhh I got a clear shot out the door of my office at a friend in his. Works real well for those large rubber bands and sharp pointy objects.

 

Dont know what the average is around your part of the country, I run $500 for starting a halter broke 2 yr old.... mustangs are negotiated at a higher rate, dependant on what I need to do with them.

 

I usually charge 350.00 a month and up dependent on the animal. Most of the foxtrotters run around 400.00 a month. They are easy. I've seen everything from 350.00 to 750.00 in this area for trailhorses and much higher for roping or barrells. I don't rope but I have straightened out a few roping horses that were getting to keyed up in the box and not paying attention to the riders commands. Had a 16.2HH roper in last summer for a brushup. The following Monday afternoon the roadgrader operator on his normal rounds stopped at the house. Wanted to know what kind of fight happened in the road at the end of the farm. He had decided that he was the boss and wasn't doing anything he didn't want to and I guess the owner let him.

 

nevada or joplin pilot either one would work for me. i need to go to four states anyways and pick up an elbow and y pipe, possibly even a set of train horns. i'd say let's all meet up one saturday or sunday just for a BS session but only 2 people would make it. but i'm game for it. just decide a weekend and i'm there.
